Hey there FaithTrek families!
Zaccheus was our lesson on Sunday and I taught them the Zaccheus song that I learned when I was their age. I know that some of y’all are humming it in your heads right now! If you remember, Zaccheus was not a well-liked man, a tax collector, no less. Here’s a thoughtful conversation to have at dinner or prayer time with your cherub from the family page - When you don’t like a certain person, how do you deal with them?
This Sunday, church will open at 10:00 AM due to the Good Life Halfsy and we have an intergenerational outdoor quick cleanup/spruce planned from 10:00-10:25 AM. The cherubs will then have music practice from 10:25- 10:40 AM. Dress accordingly, and if inclement weather, there will be a mini Lego lesson. Bring gloves if you have them. After worship at 10:45 AM, ther will be a potluck lunch and Town Hall meeting.
On Friday, November 21, First Lutheran is hosting a Parent’s Night Out. If you have kiddos ages 3 through 5th grade, bring them to the Activity Center between 5:30-9 PM and the middle and high schoolers (with adults, as well!) will entertain them with dinner, games and a movie while you enjoy a night out! It’s a great way to get some seasonal shopping done or take in a movie, or get some dinner, or go bowling - you get the drift. It’s open to more than just First families, so if there’s anyone you would like to hang out with, they can bring their cherubs as well. The cost is $15.00 per child. More details to come.
On Sunday, November 23, we will have an all-age, all-family Advent activity held in the Activity Center from 9:30-10:15 AM. We will be decorating lanterns that will go on our “tree” in the Sanctuary during Advent. Join us! It will be fun!
After the 10:45 AM worship service on Sunday, December 14, we will be holding an All-Congregational Christmas Talent Show as a fundraiser for the middle school/high school summer accompaniment trips, as well as camp scholarships for the smaller cherubs. Anyone can sign up and there will be a $10.00 entry fee per act and a free will offering for the lunch provided. Start warming up those vocal chords and/or tubas, sharpen your acting skills or practice your joke telling!
Happy November,
Miss Laura
