Hello Falcon Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about an amazing event happening tomorrow evening: The 16th Annual FHUSD PTO Gala! This year's Gala is being held at the Desert Canyon Bar & Grill from 6-11 pm.
Ticket purchasing and online bidding are open and active now - anyone can get in on the action, with great items including FHMS specific items like VIP parking spaces, front row seats to performances and 8th grade promotion, class baskets, principal's basket, and many incredible local and national donations. NO ATTENDANCE NECESSARY TO START BIDDING NOW at
www.fhptogala.givesmart.com. The night of the event will also have a $10,000 putting contest, jewelry raffle from Sami Fine Jewelry, photo both, 50/50 raffle, and much more!
Our PTO provides thousands of dollars to our schools every year in STEM, art, PE and music supplies, $200 to every teacher, books, homework lab, online resources and teacher appreciation luncheons, just to name a few. Thanks to your support, last year PTO raised $24,000!
In addition, thanks to the Boys & Girls Club your childcare is covered, as they are hosting a "Parents Night Out" 5:30-11:30 pm Saturday evening. You can bring your children to Boys & Girls Club and then head to the Gala to enjoy an evening meeting parents and supporting our schools.

Coach Salzman is having a Youth Wrestling Camp that's open to all students (boys & girls) in grades K-8. It will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings March 19 - April 25 in the high school gym. Flyers can be downloaded

Second Quarter Honor Roll Awards
Congratulations to our Second Quarter Principal's List and Honor Roll Award recipients. We are very proud of all the Fourth through Eighth Grade students whose achievement is so strong! Award ceremonies were held earlier this month. Thank you to all the parents and family members who attended in support and recognition of our students' hard work.
The criteria for Principal's List for all grades is all A's. The criteria for Honor Roll, 6-8 grade is a GPA of 3.5 or greater for the grading term. Grades 4-5 criteria is all A's and B's for the grading term. Check out these impressive numbers:

Second Semester Parent Teacher Conferences
During the week of March 4, teachers and grade level teams will provide opportunities for parents to come in, particularly if a student in struggling.
4th & 5th Grade: Conferences will be held the week of March 4 by appointment. Conferences will not be required for all students. Teachers will request a conference with individual families for students who may be struggling or for other concerns.
6th - 8th Grade
: Conferences will not be required for all students. Teachers will request a conference with individual families for students who may be struggling or for other concerns. We will have conferences during the day on Thursday, March 7 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. On Friday, March 8, teachers will be conferencing from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
7th & 8th Grade: Conferences will be on a first-come, first-served, open house format as has been done in the past.

Inter-Generational Band Concert
Join us on Tuesday, February 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the FHMS gym for the annual "Inter-Generational Band Concert" featuring the FHMS Band, FHHS Band, and the Fountain Hills Community Band. The bands will perform a variety of music from "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Raiders March" to Dixieland Jazz. This is an amazing concert experience you won't want to miss!

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team who finished the season as the #1 team in their league! We are the champions!

8th Grade Camp Surf Trip
We are very excited about our 8th grade trip to Camp Surf at Imperial Beach, CA, which will take place May 20-22, 2019. For those students who have already paid their $100 deposit, the remaining balance will be due on or before April 30, 2019. Installment payments can be made until that date. As a reminder, the total trip cost is $300 per student. If you are not sure of your balance, please call the office at 480.664.5411 for the amount due.
A parent meeting will be held Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00 pm at Fountain Hills Middle School. At that time, parents will be given important forms and additional information in regards to the trip to the San Diego area.

FHMS Birthday Club
We are excited to offer FHMS families the opportunity to add to their student's birthday celebrations. For only $5, you can add your student's first name and last initial with a "Happy Birthday" message to our marquee. For all submissions, we must have the student's name, birthday date, and $5 (cash or check payable to FHMS) at least two weeks prior to their actual birthday so we are able to program the system accurately. The birthday message will run from 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. on the student's birthday. Request forms are available at the front office, and must be signed by the student's parent/guardian. |
