Home of the Falcons!
"Fountain Hills Middle School empowers students to learn, to care, and to succeed."
Principal's Message                                  September 20, 2019
Hello Falcon Families,

We are fast approaching the end of the first quarter and preparing for one of the most important events in the school year - Parent-Teacher Conferences.  For those of you that have been around awhile there has been a significant change to the school calendar. This year we have full days on Sep. 30, Oct. 1 & 2, and half-days on Oct. 3 & 4 (in the past we had a "no student" day on the Friday before Fall Break).  As a result of this change we have adjusted the times and days of our scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences.

This year's formal Parent-Teacher Conference hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 3rd from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Grade level teams will be reaching out to parents and guardians with sign-up and location details.

Have a great weekend!

Respectfully,

James Carrick - Principal

On the first day of the Fair , September 26, 2019, we are encouraging all staff and students to dress up in "Arctic White" to kick off the theme of the Book Fair for the week. Come dressed in anything white!

October 1st   - We will have our "Snowball Breakfast" beginning at 7:30am. A child or children, accompanied by an adult, can come shop the Fair and enjoy snowy donut holes, a variety of other donuts, milk and coffee while shopping their favorite titles!

October 2nd at Fountain Hills Middle School, we will be open for our Community/Parent Shopping Night from 5:00-7:00pm during
conferences or for folks who work during the day. The Lu Lu's Sorbetto cart will be set-up for folks to purchase a frozen treat while browsing the Fair.

We will have plenty of other fun events going on throughout the week like an "All For Books" Drive with lollipop pull, "Guess the Snowballs" for a chance to win a FREE book, "Get Caught Reading" each day and turn your tickets
in to be entered in the raffle for a book of your student's choice valued at $15 or under, plus other fun-filled activities throughout the week.

Thank you FHUSD PTO for your support!
Happening On Campus:

A guest speaker from Maricopa County spoke on storm water pollution prevention and run off to Mrs. McDonald's fourth classes. Students enjoyed the privilege of a hands-on presentation and working to design logos for a poster contest.

Deputy Brooks, the School Resource Officer spoke with the fourth graders all about personal and internet safety.

FHMS Fall Sports are underway! Come out to one of our home games and show your school spirit supporting our Falcon athletes.  Soccer plays at home on October 3rd and football on October 5th.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

When students stay after school, they must be under a teacher's supervision at all times. If they are planning on attending a sporting event, they must go home and return at the start of the event unless the student is supervised by a teacher.

Because supervision does not begin until 8:10 am, students are not to be on campus before then. They must immediately leave campus once the dismissal bell rings in the afternoon at 3:10 pm (2:10 pm on early release Wednesdays).
