Happy Holidays!

Winter break starts next week and school resumes on Monday, January 6.  Here's wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful winter break with happy holiday celebrations!  


School Spelling Bee Contestants

Congratulations to the following third graders who qualified with their written spelling tests this month for the McDowell Mountain Elementary School Spelling Bee on January 8: Layleh Wisniewski, Benjamin Goodman, Cyleah Miles, Angelo Latko, Landon Ostrander, Ondre Ramirez, DeMya Staten, Mikayla Reinken, Hartleigh Kelly, Levi Lara, Taryn Wolff, Evan Williamson, Brody Simonson, Sawyer Hoid, Lillia Hewes, Kaitlyn LeDrew, Cullen Bratcher, Paige Ivie, Alexandra Ivie, Mia Schlossberg, Nathaniel Schlossberg, Ella Schlossberg, Gianna Ivie, and Noah Ramsey. Falcon Leaders' Sock Drive

MMES Falcon Leaders' community service project for November-December was their annual Sock Drive for the Shoebox Ministry. We surpassed our 1,200 sock-pair goal and Shoebox Ministry has received 1,537 pairs of socks for the homeless this winter.  Thank you to all of the Falcon Leaders, their sponsor Ms. Smart, and all the classes whose families brought in socks for this collection!
