Dear FHUSD Families and Friends,
Important-Mid Year Bus Route Changes Effective MARCH 18, 2019
I have some important transportation route changes to notify you about. These changes do affect over 200 students that ride these bus routes. Making route changes during the school year is a difficult decision. We realize that routines have been established and changes impact more than just students but the changes are necessary in order to continue to provide a safe and reliable transportation system. The changes impact three routes:
ASAH 1, Bluebird and Bookworm
. The revised route schedules have been updated on our website:
. When reviewing the new routes, notice that the routes with changes have a red header for you to identify them more easily. In addition to posting the changes on the district site, each student who rides these routes received a packet of information Thursday afternoon, March 7th plus a district-wide email will be sent with the information over the spring break week as another reminder.
All changes will take place beginning
the morning of March 18, 2019
. Below is a summary of the changes.
1. Morning Middle/Elementary School pickup times have changed to 5 minutes earlier. Please note the new pickup times and have students at their pickup location at least 5 minutes prior to pickup.
1. Stops have been added and deleted from the Bluebird route. These changes may have impacted pick up/drop off times.
1. During the SCHOOL to HOME routes Middle/Elementary School drop times have changed. NEW DROP TIMES MAY NOT BE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER BY DESIGN.
2. Morning Middle/Elementary School pickup times have moved to earlier times up to 9 minutes depending on the stop. Please note the new pickup times.
If you have specific questions please contact Transportation Director John Flynn at
Town Water Main Construction Project
Another transportation item to mention is an EPCOR Water Main replacement project for Sunridge Drive from Palisades Boulevard to Desert Canyon Drive. While this may impact commuter traffic, according to EPCOR, it does not have any current affect on FHUSD bus routes or times. There will, however, be additional construction phases beyond May 2019 that may require school district bus route changes for August but the specifics for those are unknown at this time.
I hope everyone enjoys the spring break week and as we head into the home stretch of the school year, please know how much we appreciate all you do for Fountain Hills School District.
