Grateful for our wonderful families!

Superintendent's Message

Greetings Families and Friends of Brown Deer,

Happy November!

We would like to thank everyone who was able to attend or communicate with our teachers for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Our goal is to meet 100% of our parents and guardians to help us forge relationships that will support student learning. I have asked my staff to personally contact you to bring you up to date with your students' progress if you were unable to attend the conferences. Please return those calls as soon as possible so that we can make sure we are on the same page with learning expectations and success stories!

We have amazing micro-victories happening each and every day in our schools. I just love when I hear our students share their learning stories and how they are motivated to explore and learn. Special thanks to our Construction Academy students and teacher Craig Griffie in collaboration with the district staff to build two new baseball dugouts on our campus. It's certainly been a work in progress since the class meets every other day, but you need to check out the beautiful new dugouts for our baseball team located to the northeast of the district office.

Special Note - We are doing some remodeling in the district office the week of November 21st and our district office will be closed November 21-23, 2016. We received a very generous donation of office furniture from a company in Milwaukee and our district office is going to transform into a more professional setting to take care of you and our staff. If you need further assistance from us we ask that you contact us before that date or inquire at one of the schools for assistance. We appreciate your patience as we upgrade our professional offices.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful autumn and a great Thanksgiving.

Yours in Education,

Dr. Kerr
2nd Annual Color Me Happy - Color Run
The 2nd annual Color Me Happy Color Run was held on Friday, October 7th. Many parents, students and staff members turned out for the event which is funded by the Education Foundation and raises money for student scholarships.  Volunteers at four separate color stations poured powdered color on the participants as they passed by along the route. Following the run/walk participants gathered on the football field for the color blast, where many packets of color were emptied over the entire crowd. Check out some of our fun photos from the event.

Dugout Construction
The construction classes have been working diligently on the dugouts for the varsity baseball field and they are coming together well. It is great to see students using their talents and skills to make a difference in the lives of others.
