Maria Gallo, Ph.D., president of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., has been named the 20th chancellor of UW-River Falls. Her appointment takes effect July 15. Read more.

Almost every morning Duane Roen, '71 and '74, walks to his office on Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus about 6 a.m. It’s nice and cool, and he gets to talk to the facilities management folks who are out at that hour. University of Wisconsin System schools in River Falls, Eau Claire and Menomonie relaxed their face covering and physical distancing requirements on campus June 1 for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Read more.
In (and Out of) the Classroom
Senior Brooke Shepherd of Stillwater, Minn., will spend six weeks this summer reporting on the issue of obesity in Western Wisconsin after receiving the first Donovan E. Rasmussen Broadcast Journalism Fellowship. Read more.

The Chancellor’s Award for Students recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, excellence and service, both on campus and in the community. Eight students received this honor in May. Read more.
Efforts are underway to establish a memorial endowment in honor of respected philosophy professor Imtiaz Moosa who taught at UWRF from 1989 until his unexpected passing in December 2020. Read more.
