Aaron Nagiel, MD, PhD, received his PhD in neuroscience from The Rockefeller University. Nagiel completed his MD at Weill Cornell Medical College and then performed his ophthalmology residency, immediately followed by a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.

Benjamin Y. Xu, MD, PhD, earned his MD from Columbia University, where he stayed on to pursue his PhD on the time course of eye position signals in the Macaque monkey's cerebral cortex. Xu performed his ophthalmology residency at the USC Roski Eye Institute, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the UCSD Shiley Eye Institute.

Nicole Yang, OD, received her Doctor of Optometry from University of California, Berkeley, followed by her residency at Sepulveda Veteran Affairs Healthcare Center, focusing on primary eye care and geriatric optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease. Yang then performed a primary eye care fellowship at Beijing University Third Hospital.

She performed her residency at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System; Major Robert Soltes Jr. OD Blind Rehabilitation Center, with an emphasis on low vision rehabilitation and traumatic brain injuries.
