Volume 2 | Fall 2021
Hello, Comstock!
Thanks for reading the second edition of the Comstock Township Library e-Newsletter!

Now that Summer Reading Program has ended and kids are returning to school, things around the library are settling down as well. But just because it's a little quiet doesn't mean we don't have a lot to offer you! Check out some of the great things happening at the library!
A Word from the Director: Emily Kubash
"Libraries store the energy that fuels imagination. They open windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life."
– Sidney Sheldon, Author

Regular library users know that the library is the place to go for new books, audiobooks, movies, and videogames. Lately, however, we’ve looked to how we can support patrons in trying new activities and hobbies. We’ve expanded our collections recently to offer Discovery Kits. These kits are filled with inspiration and the tools needed to explore a new hobby or theme. Kits for all ages are available now for checkout.
The adult Kits include:
·        Metal stamping
·        Bullet journaling
·        Macramé
·        Wood burning
·        Origami
·        Fun shape cake pans
·        Crochet and Knitting
The youth Kits include:
·        Virtual Reality headset
·        Night sky planetarium
·        Dash Robot
·        Polaroid camera - coming soon
·        Girls of the World - coming soon
·        Kano Coding Kit - coming soon
Visit the library catalog and search for “discovery kit” to see the full list of what’s available. You can place holds on kits and check them out for two weeks. We are adding new items all the time so be sure to check back and see what new activities you’d like to try out for free!

For our youngest patrons, we also offer Storytime Kits, on a variety of themes, that include stories, puppets, and other related activities. You will find the full list of available themes by searching “storytime kit” in the library catalog, or by visiting the Youth page of our website.

We are also pleased to offer a new electronic service, Tutor.com. Tutor.com offers K-12 students free one on one virtual tutoring services. It also includes study prep guides for standardized tests, such as the GRE or SAT, and career resources for job seekers. This free service is available to anyone with a Comstock Library card or Comstock Schools student library card. Visit our website to find out more or to try out Tutor.com.

We look forward to continuing to serve our community with enhanced collections and services. Have a safe and healthy fall!

-Emily
