NEUFELD INSTITUTE CONFERENCE 2022
GORDON NEUFELD
|
It struck me as I was preparing for my four 2022 conference sessions how well they actually fit together as a whole. If you registered for the conference, which took place online from May 12-14, 2022, and were intending on viewing these sessions, I would suggest treating them as a set, starting with my anchor keynote, followed by session C1 on trauma, and then going to session A4 on happiness, before ending with session E5 on music.
I enjoyed preparing for these sessions immensely, feeling as if I was breaking through to new realizations and new ways of conveying what I was seeing. (Hopefully that is not just a comforting self-serving illusion). The most cherished feedback I received was actually from our database programmer who said that it opened his eyes to what became self-evident as soon as the words were spoken. It has always been my greatest challenge and fulfillment, to find the words that can open the eyes to the pivotal truths that were always there but had not yet entered our consciousness, or at least not with the weight that should be given them.
What I missed tremendously with our online conference is the interaction with the audience. I pretend the audience is in that little green light in the camera that I stare at, and I don't quite know what to do with myself when that light suddenly disappears. I decided that what I could do is set up a separate Q&A webinar for conference attendees who have viewed my sessions. We've set the date for Monday, August 29, 2022 at 1:00–2:30 pm PDT. Click here to register.
There is no fee for this webinar. Instructions on how to submit a question about material covered in my sessions will be provided upon registration. I look forward to hearing from you!

Editor's Note re: Conference Recordings
The feedback we've received from over 700 registrants who attended our live 2022 conference has been outstanding. But what we've heard most from participants over and over again is how much they appreciate the ability to view the conference session recordings long after the live conference ends. The three keynotes by Gordon, Tamara Strijack and Deborah MacNamara were absolutely engaging. The remaining presentations all served to flesh out the implications and applications, offering further context to the anchor keynote.
If you didn't get a chance to register for the live conference, or have friends that you think would benefit from this material, it is not too late to register for access to all of the recordings. The sooner one registers, the longer one has access to this feast of insights. SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS.

|
BREAKING NEWS! ALL recordings are now available to view until November 30, 2022 (previously August 10-12, 2022). Take your time watching (and rewatching)!

WEBINAR PANEL
TRAFFIC CIRCLE MODEL OF FRUSTRATION
GORDON NEUFELD, TAMARA STRIJACK, DEBORAH MACNAMARA
|
To kick-off our 2022-2023 academic year, Dr. Neufeld will present his Traffic Circle Model of Frustration in an 18-minute TedX-type talk, to be immediately followed by a dialogue panel which will include himself, Tamara Strijack, and Deborah MacNamara.
Understanding the frustration traffic circle can be transformative for parents, teachers, and therapists in helping their charges and for handling one's own frustration, as well. Since frustration exists for every one of us every day of our lives, there is no more important emotion to deal with than frustration.
DATE: Thursday, September 22, 2022
TIME: 2:00-3:30 pm PT
There is no fee for this webinar and all are welcome.

Thursdays, October 6 to November 3, 2022
a special Fall initiative for educators and supporting professionals
When Dr. Neufeld first began providing professional development to educators, some 25 years ago, he had organized his material around the topic of Reaching Troubled Kids. The material was very well received by school systems throughout British Columbia and Canada. As a result of this material, Gordon became a 'regular' presenter for alternate education conferences where troubled kids were most likely to be found. Coming full circle, and now with the added insights available from neuroscience, Gordon has updated and reorganized this material to serve educators in today's society, where troubled behaviour and syndromes have unfortunately become the norm.
Tamara Strijack has been inspired to bring this revised material to the forefront for those involved professionally with children. She has designed a special series for this Fall that will feature an orientation session on October 6th, followed by a plenary address by Gordon on the topic on October 13th, and then three follow-up sessions (October 20th, 27th, and November 3rd) that focus on practical applications and implementations, all tailored to specific interest groups. All sessions take place between 2:00 to 3:30 pm PT. The seven group cohorts include: educators, school counsellors, clinical counsellors/mental health professionals, indigenous programs, health-care professionals, foster/adoption, and early childhood support.
Participants will be treated to remarkable insights regarding three hidden stories that exist in almost all troubled kids, regardless of how the trouble is manifest. These three hidden stories turn out to have a singular underlying theme, which, once understood, have surprising and very practical implications for all those involved with children and youth.

NEW OFFERING IN SEMINAR FORMAT
GORDON NEUFELD & TAMARA STRIJACK
We are pleased to announce Art and Science of Home Education as being the latest addition to our seminar format course list – filmed lectures or presentations that can be streamed or downloaded without having to access our virtual campus.
In this four-session, 5.5 hour seminar, Gordon and Tamara join forces to deliver the material they believe every parent should know about as they make important decisions regarding their children's education. Although the focus is on the home-school advantage, the content is highly relevant regardless of the setting in which formal learning occurs. It is our mission at the Neufeld Institute to attempt to put parents back into the driver's seat with regards to their children, and that includes the educational domain. The purpose of this seminar is to equip parents with the knowledge and confidence needed to make the best decisions regarding their child's educational journey, regardless of whether this be via conventional schooling or through more alternative terrain.
The fee to purchase this seminar recording package is $120.

Other courses in the seminar format course list include Neufeld's Five-Step Model for Emotional Maturation, Neufeld's Model of Attachment, Keeping Children Safe in a Wounding World, and the Solutions to Sleep Webinar Panel Series. Visit Seminars & Webinars under the Resources menu on our website.
