Once again, we see the remarkable accomplishments of the Beta Tau Chapter. For the first time since the on-set of the Covid-19 epidemic the membership is once again up over 100 and fully expects to fill the Shelter to capacity. Welcome to the 2023 pledge class! Brothers at Beta Tau! A special thanks to the Executive Team, led by Adam Steinwold and the entire Recruitment Team.
The recent Alumni gathering was full of “good cheer” and reflected the hard work of the undergrads’ efforts in rush and the many Shelter improvements including fresh paint, reframed and refreshed historic chapter pictures of our previous Shelters at various locations in Lincoln and on campus, as well as, notable members and memorabilia. A special thanks to Chuck Allen for locating pictures of the previous Shelter and having the pictures magnificently framed. In the living room, new furniture and seating arrangements. The kitchen improvements are impressive and there’s more planned to be completed soon, including a very much needed cooler and a remodel of the cook’s office and storage areas.
The reunion of scores of alumni from over the past 40 years witnessed the presentation of alumni awards to Delta Tau Delta “Best Delt Booster” to Brian Hamilton and to Steve Fallon as the “Alumni of the Year” for all the “behind the scenes work” that he does and the recognition and awarding of the Ben Neff Award and Alan Emanuel Memorial Award.
Alumni involvement serves as the Chapter’s foundation and the representation of the many years of a legacy of excellence. Let’s renew our support of our undergraduate Brothers. We are all very proud of the achievements of the chapter: improving academics, an outstanding recruitment program and recently another Hugh Shields Award. The accomplishments of our young alumni are mounting. We can all remember when they were honing leadership skills as members of our Beta Tau Executive Team. It is awesome to witness their success and gives me great confidence in the future ahead.
Please consider the ongoing maintenance and support that is necessary to carry Beta Tau and our Shelter into the next few decades of Brotherhood and financially support the journey and those here now and those who come after.
Finally, we are all saddened by the recent passing of Brother Tom Wolf. A stalwart and committed Brother, alumni and firm and generous supporter giving time and treasure over a lifetime… a presence who is missed.
