Fall 2023 Registration Memo & Schedule

Dear Student,

This letter is in reference to Fall 2023 registration. All Fall semester 2023 classes will be held in person at the Lincoln Center and Westchester Campuses.

Course Times:

Please note the time slots for the 110-minute in-person class sessions are:

Morning classes:

8:50 AM - 10:40 AM

10:50 AM - 12:40 PM

Afternoon classes:

1:30 PM - 3:20 PM

3:30 PM-5:20 PM

Evening classes:

5:30 PM - 7:20 PM

7:30 PM - 9:20 PM

Fall 2023 Registration begins on Wednesday, March 29th, at 7:00 am. All registration is done through your my.fordham.edu account.

To avoid system overload, Fall 2023 registration dates are staggered based on credits earned (number of credits completed, not in progress) to avoid system overload. Please note the following:

Wednesday, March 29th: Matriculated students who have earned 16.5 credits and above
Thursday, March 30th: Matriculated students who have earned 0 – 16 credits
Friday, March 31st: PhD and Non-matriculated students. If you are currently a non-matric student and have a pending application for the fall, do not register until you have received your decision and then follow those registration directions.

There are several things that are important for you to do before registration for the Fall 2023 semester:

Check your Registration Status now. You will see the link under the Student Tab in my.fordham.edu. Clicking on that will tell you if you have any holds – Bursar/Financial, Immunization, or Admissions. Please resolve any holds as soon as possible so that you can register at your appointed time. If you have a hold when registration opens, you will not be permitted to register for courses.
Conduct a Degree Audit, known as DegreeWorks. You will see this link under the Student Tab.
Additional things to note in DegreeWorks - your graduation date was automatically generated when you began the program and will be adjusted in your final semester and after you file for graduation. If you completed a year of field placement, the IP* (In Progress) grade remains even after posting your final grade.
Print out the schedule – You can find the schedules by clicking on the link in this Fall 2023 Schedule or by going to www.fordham.edu/gss, clicking on Students, clicking on Master of Social Work, and clicking on Class Schedules.
To avoid confusion with the Online MSW Program schedule, please register for academic courses listed in the Fall 2023 Schedule.

Please note that if you will be in a field placement for Fall 2023, please be sure to register for field instruction at the same time that you register for academic courses.

MSW Plans of Study

Please note students are only allowed to register for Specialist courses in Fall 2023 ONLY if you have completed all 8 Generalist academic coursework and fieldwork requirements.

Students can register after their assigned date but not before that date. Please register on your assigned date as courses will be added or canceled based on registration. The last day to add/drop for Fall 2023 courses is Friday, September 15, 2023.

Important Facts to Consider

Grades are in your my.fordham.edu, click on My Pages -> Student, click on Student Services Dashboard to view your grades. If your grade is blank, that means your professor has not yet submitted it.
