Total ICRF Funding Has Surpassed $98 Million in Cancer Research in Israel | |
We're excited to share that new grants have been awarded to Israeli scientists for the 2024-2025 funding year. The recipients are some of the best and brightest scientists across Israel's leading institutions who are exploring the best ways to prevent, detect, treat, and ultimately cure cancer. Feature Story: More Years with my Father is Why I Believe in ICRF | |
When Daniel Kraus was in eighth grade, his world turned upside down when his father Elden was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Soon after, his father started Gleevec, a treatment that was developed due to discoveries from ICRF-funded research, which extended his life.

Dr. Perets, recipient of the ICRF Beverley Librach Abshez Initiative for Ovarian and Female Reproductive System Cancers, successfully genetically engineered ovarian cancer in mice to prevent and treat one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women. For Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (September), we're proud to share her work and her honest reflections about living in Israel right now.

Professor Nussbaum is researching how oral bacteria has been shown to accelerate pancreatic cancer development, which explains the link between periodontal disease and risk of this deadly cancer. Looking ahead to Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (November), we're proud to highlight this interesting research.
Prof. Nussbaum has a personal connection as he lost his father to pancreatic cancer and often relates his father's case to his work.

Daisy Gerber: Small Stature, Big Life, Immeasurable Legacy | |
We're pleased to highlight visionary individuals whose legacies continue well beyond the years they’re physically with us. Daisy Gerber was one of those people. She was not only a trailblazer in the film industry, but she also had the foresight to support Israel’s trailblazing science through a bequest – which will ultimately save countless lives and bring us closer to a cure. We're sharing this story in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), the cancer that took Daisy's life far too soon.
