LAST OF THE LOCAL SUMMER SWEET CORN
corn photo This will be the last weekend (we think) for our locally grown, un-sprayed sweet corn - if we don't have a freeze in the next week there may be more, because it got planted late due to the wet spring. But if it does get cold next week, you'll have to make due with the grocery store stuff. Get it fresh, sweet and locally grown while you can! It's the perfect thing to serve with lobster, grilled fish, baked fish, good with almost anything.

Everyone seems to lament the end of wild salmon and halibut season, but there are so many wonderful fish that are available fresh all during fall and winter - we have two great ones on deal this weekend, plus the last of the fresh Alaskan halibut (though we will probably get some California halibut during the winter). In late August we had the pleasure of providing a lobster boil to three appreciative Hinsdale couples - we supplied all the food, cooked and ready to eat, they supplied the flowers, plates  and beverages. 
     According to the hostess:
"It was perfect! Everything was cooked perfectly the portions were perfect! So easy and so fun! Garlic butter was delicious and the bread for dipping, mussels and clams for extra seafood, slaw was good and lobsters were meaty."
    We have multiple options for Lobster Boil parties - we bring everything to you ready to eat, we cook it all and you pick it up, or one of our chefs will come and prepare it for you on site. Prices vary, depending on your choice of cooking venue. We also have shellfish shears that you can borrow, for a deposit which is refunded when shears are returned.

     In late June we catered a fun event for a family in Wilmette - a combined 40th and 5th birthday party, father and son. Another father and son duo, Burhop's Chef Jaime and his son Jonny, cooked up kebabs, lobster tails, sweet corn and more for a happy crowd of many ages. According to the hostess:
