A Letter From The Office:

Every Fall Appeal letter for the last few years has started with an expression of how beautiful this county is, and I have no better words for it than that! Driving around the lakes every morning, passing serene fields on one side and breathtaking mountains on the other proves to me that we are doing good, meaningful work in Grand County.

That work is only done because of your generous help!

I am the new program director of Colorado Headwaters Land Trust and have found a wonderful community in Grand County. Conservation isn’t easy, but with you and your neighbors as supporters of CHLT, my job gets a little easier. I have already met many of our supporters and look forward to meeting many more of you soon.
If you are interested in increasing your impact even more, consider applying to be on our board! The Board of Directors is a dedicated, enthusiastic group of conservation-minded community members, and we are always searching for new recruits to continue driving this organization forward.

As the year comes to an end, we are asking that you please make your tax-deductible donation to help us continue working to protect the land, water, and natural resources we love in Grand County. To make your gift, please visit our website or contact the office.

You can also participate in the state’s largest online nonprofit donation day: Colorado Gives Day, on Tuesday, Dec. 04 ! This year your donation will be increased proportionally through the Incentive Fund, so your impact on conservation will be even greater! Go to to give today!

CHLT also is part of the Grand County Gives collaborative campaign, to help support all Grand County nonprofits. You can also join the fun in Grand County on Tuesday, Nov 27, as part of the Grand County Gives Rally ! Contact the office for more information.
Finally, you are warmly invited to join us for a special evening with renowned photographer John Fielder ! We are partnering with the Grand County Historical Association to bring Mr. Fielder to the Headwaters Center in Winter Park on Wednesday, Dec. 12 , from 5:00PM - 8:00PM .

Drinks will be provided and food will be potluck finger-foods, such as desserts, fruit, etc. To learn more about this free event (donations accepted), please contact the office.
With your help, we can continue conserving Grand County’s land and resources, educating others about the value of open spaces, and bringing the community together over our shared love of where we live.

Please give what you can and consider signing up for recurring donations, which we can count on to continue protecting the land we love . Visit or go to to give today.

Happy Thanksgiving!
