Dear Pilot Families,
I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying a restful summer. I’m writing to provide an important update regarding the Girls’ Tennis and Girls’ Golf programs for the upcoming Fall 2025 season.
First, I want to thank the families, students, and alumni who have reached out with thoughtful messages, offering support, concern, and creative solutions. Your passion and advocacy for our student-athletes do not go unnoticed—and it truly reflects the heart of our SJND community.
Girls’ Golf – Returning for Fall 2025
We are excited to share that due to the generous outreach and support from connected families and alumni, we are able to reinstate Girls’ Golf for this season with the addition of our new head coach, Lawrence Donovan. This is a direct result of your support and collaboration, and we look forward to building on the momentum from last year’s great season. More details will be shared shortly with those who expressed interest. Be sure to register in the 2025-26 SJND Fall Athletic Registration, and turn your physicals into Ms. Liz Rochlin as soon as possible.
Girls’ Tennis – On Hold for Fall 2025
After ongoing outreach efforts and conversations with our previous coach, it became clear that we do not have a committed team large enough to participate in league play this season. However, we are actively exploring ways to preserve the spirit of the program. One option being considered is integrating interested girls into the Boys’ Tennis season in the spring to ensure that athletes still have a meaningful opportunity to develop and compete this year. We’ll share more details in the coming months.
At SJND, student experience and opportunity are at the heart of every decision we make. Please know that this is not a decision made lightly, and we are committed to ensuring that every student-athlete feels seen, valued, and supported.
Thank you again for your continued trust, advocacy, and care for our growing Athletics program.
With appreciation,
Ms. Ashlee Robinson
Director of Athletics
