Act Fast: HOW WILDLIFE TRAVEL is an EXCELLENT EDUCATOR

Passport House Party

Sunday, October 19, 4:30 pm

The spirit of travel inspired us to create the PASSPORT HOUSE PARTY. Hosted in a welcoming Denver home, this intimate evening offers time to mingle, enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres, and connect through conversation in a relaxed setting.

The featured speaker for our upcoming PASSPORT HOUSE PARTY is Sheridan Samano. A trailblazer in conservation-driven travel, she is creating life-changing opportunities for people to connect deeply with wildlife, wild places, and one another. She is the co-founder of Reefs to Rockies, a Colorado-based travel company celebrating its 20th anniversary. Sheridan has led immersive journeys across the globe — from the Great Plains to the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego — and recently launched Her Wildlife Expeditions, empowering women through wildlife-focused adventures.

Tickets* includes wine/beverages and hors d’oeuvres.

Individual: $165 (the price of a passport😊)

Couple: $300

Location: Cherry Creek area, Denver home (exact address will be emailed to ticket holders)

Date/Time: Sunday, October 19, at 4:30 pm

*Our generous host is covering ALL costs, so 100% of your fee goes to help us achieve our mission: to advocate for and financially support immersive student educational travel, whether local, national, or international. Tickets are limited to 30.

❤️Anonymous Donation

We are grateful for a recent anonymous donation to the DCIS Foundation. The donor said, "I trust your team to keep helping students travel. DCIS was established to do that, and I'm glad you are carrying the torch forward to all of DPS. Good Luck!"

Thanks to donors like you, these DPS students traveled to Paris for a Science + Culture trip. One student said, "We prepared and read about the museums and history before our trip, but it blew my mind to be there. I learned so much. Life changing ."

NORTHFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Travel Fair

Super-cool board member/Treasurer (and Northfield High School parent) Bob Bresnahan led our efforts to participate in their Travel Fair on September 30. We fielded questions from students and parents about our scholarship programs for groups and individuals. Special shout out to Bonnie Martin and Brian Jenkins at Northfield High School, for including us.

The DCIS Foundation attends meetings and events all across DPS to spread the news about our foundation and all we do to help get more students traveling. Are you part of DPS? Do you want to meet with us? CLICK HERE to fill out our contact form.

THE WORD IS SPREADING FAST!

Excitement is building around our efforts to expand student travel opportunities across DPS. Pictured here are Spanish teacher Diego Rodriguez from Morey Middle School and DCIS Foundation board member Brandon Bohn. We were pleased to attend Morey’s Back-to-School Night (with thanks to Principal Courtney Wickham) and contribute funds to support their group trip to Guatemala last summer.

Trips are being planned for Germany, Tiawan, California, Galapogos Islands, Japan, and Spain...and more! Our Group Travel Applications are open until October 31. Winning grants range from $5,000-$10,000.

BIG CHECK at the International Festival!

Dave Smith, our board president, pictured here with past board member Dana Novaro, had fun at the DCIS Fairmont International Festival on Friday, Oct 3.

Dave presented the school a check to help fund cultural field trips.

Shout out to Principal Cesar Sanchez and Vice Principal Meg Zimmerman for their ongoing friendship and all that they do for their students! Great Day!

DPS Educators Rock!

Shout out to DPS educators Peggy Liu and Camay Hunter, pictured here, who work day in and day out to give their students intercultural opportunities.

West High School Mandarin Chinese teacher Peggy Liu is planning a trip to Taiwan next year and her group is applying now for a chance at a Group Scholarship from the DCIS Foundation.
