Instructor Spotlight

For September, we welcome new Beading instructor, Susan Vujovich, to our Jewelry Making studio. Susan has been taking classes here for several years, but was encouraged by our other beading teachers to develop her own class, Crafted by Hand, A Jewelry Making Journey.  This six-week Wednesday afternoon class introduces students to essential beading techniques while giving them plenty of opportunity to explore their own creativity.

Creating has always been an important part of Susan’s life. Inspired by her mother’s artistic spirit and love of jewelry, Susan was encouraged from an early age to explore different creative mediums. Over the years, she has worked in painting, watercolor, sewing, beading, wire, copper, colored pencil, and mixed media.

For several years, Susan also owned an art studio in Preston Center teaching kids and holding craft camps around the city.

Her particular passion is reimagining the forgotten and overlooked — hunting for hidden treasures at resale shops and flea markets, then deconstructing and transforming those finds into entirely new, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each creation tells its own story.

Susan enjoys sharing the joy of the of the creative process and loves nothing more than watching someone discover their own ability to make something truly special. Whether working alongside beginners or seasoned crafters, she hopes her classes encourage students to experiment, have fun, and create something they’re proud of.
