We invite 8-12th grade parents to participate in our Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday, September 25, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Conferences allow parents to truly understand their child’s achievement in the classroom including ways in which teachers can enhance their performance. It also provides time for both parents and teachers to mutually share information and problem solve to help support continued academic growth. We ask parents to participate only if you feel it is necessary to obtain progress information about your child.
The KHS conference format gives parents the option of an in-person conference or virtually through an open meeting link.
IN-PERSON CONFERENCE: Some parents may have already been contacted for a scheduled conference per the request of a teacher. If you have not been contacted but would still like to meet in person, please email the teacher for a scheduled time by the end of the day this Wednesday, 9/24. Each in-person conference will last no longer than ten minutes and will utilize the cafeteria for a meeting location. The teacher will greet you in the cafeteria at the designated time or shortly after.
VIRTUAL CONFERENCE: Each teacher will have an open meeting link for the duration of the evening. Parents will use this link to enter into the teacher's virtual waiting room. Teachers will then connect for a ten-minute conference. There might be a slight delay depending on who else has entered the open queue. Both parents can also connect from two different locations if needed. Please just ask the teacher to admit the other parent when ready. We ask for your patience and understanding with the virtual settings. A reminder text will be shared this Thursday afternoon, including the link below to connect.

A NOTE TO PARENTS:
As you prepare for your upcoming parent-teacher conference, here are a few suggested questions to consider that can help guide a meaningful and productive conversation:
- What are my child’s strengths and areas for growth?
- How well does my child communicate, both in class and with peers?
- Does my child work well in group settings?
- Is my child motivated and engaged in learning?
- Is my child consistently completing homework and assignments?
- What can I do at home to support my child’s success in this class?
- Are there any specific recommendations you have for improvement?
We encourage you to take part in our upcoming conference night and value your involvement in your child’s education. If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact the KHS main office.
