This week we honor the life of our founder, Anthony Colangelo, as we commemorate the one-year anniversary of his passing on October 13th.
While Quality Beverage was a labor of love of all the Colangelo brothers, it was born from that entrepreneurial mindset that Anthony learned from working with his father Luigi since he was a young boy.
As the oldest son, Anthony worked with his father, first in Luigi Colangelo's "store on wheels" and then the grocery stores. Before he even graduated from high school, Anthony basically worked full-time for his father, whether it was making overnight produce pickups in Philadelphia when he was barely 16 years old, or figuring out how to get Christmas trees from a supplier in Canada and selling them at the family grocery store when he was about 10 years old.
Perhaps he was just born with good business sense or maybe he learned it from working side-by-side with his father. Whatever the case, he never stopped thinking, he never stopped learning, he never stopped doing what he knew and loved, running Quality Beverage. He was very intelligent but quiet and humble.
He was a voracious reader, a devout Catholic and a strong supporter of the annual Malvern retreats.
He loved a good game of "Fingers" and a cold beer with his meals.
His presence is deeply missed by his family and friends.
Please join us in celebrating his wonderful life and legacy.
