Fall Events, News and Opportunities for our Members
Dear ,

Fall is finally here.  We've  enjoyed a busy summer with Greenway Walks, booths at local farmer's markets, production of a new greenway video, and events such as Open Streets Asheville, Race to Taps, Brewing for Greenways, Aloft Live, and Cycle to Farm. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us or volunteered. You are integral to our movement.

On November 8th, City of Asheville and Town of Woodfin residents will have the opportunity to vote on several bond referenda on the ballot. Below we have links to information about these bonds. We encourage you to educate yourself as these bonds include greenways and pedestrian and bicycle improvements. Help get the word out and let your voice be heard.

On November 10th, we have our 3rd Annual Industry Nine and Asheville Pizza and Brewing I9AP release and member appreciation party at the Millroom. The following week, on November 16th, we are hosting our annual meeting at the Comfort Suites on Brevard Road. See below for more information and save the dates.

We look forward to your continued involvement and hope to see you soon. Our annual meeting will be a great way for everyone to catch up on what is going on. And hopefully a day for us to celebrate the passage of bonds!  H appy Fall!

Asheville Bonds ...Greenways Please!
Asheville Bond

The City of Asheville has three bonds on the November ballot and lots of great educational materials on-line. Please visit the bond referendum information webpage for detailed information about how bonds work, what the impact could be on taxes and other information. The webpage features an interactive  Proposed 2016 Bond Referendum Story Map guides voters through some examples of projects included in the proposed bond package.  You can also like the AVL BOND Facebook page for more info.
If you are interested in volunteering to help spread the word, please visit the Chamber website  Volunteer Sign-up Link.
Friends of Connect Buncombe has endorsed the bonds and is excited to see the Swannanoa Greenway, greenway connectors, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements included. We hope that you will help us share information about the bonds.
Woodfin Bond ... YES!
Town of Woodfin Park and Greenway Bond

Woodfin residents will have the opportunity to vote on the Park and Greenway Bond on the November ballot.
In recognition of the need for enhanced pedestrian and recreational access across the Town of Woodfin, the Board of Alderman undertook the development of a Greenways, Sidewalks, and Bikeways Master Plan in 2009 and formally adopted the plan in 2010.
The bond is slated to address Phase I of the Woodfin greenway as well as a new park. This is an investment along Woodfin's extensive riverfront to help improve conditions for citizens and businesses and improve the overall quality of life for citizens.
For more information about The Town of Woodfin's greenway and parks, you can visit their website
