History by Candlelight

The Candlelight Tour is returning to Star Fort this fall! Head out to Ninety Six National Historic Site on October 15, 2022 for a unique guided tour where history comes to life. Tours will depart every 15 minutes beginning at 6:45pm, but reservations are required. You won't want to miss this experience!
Squealin' on the Square

Hurricanes might be cause for delay, but the show will go on! Originally scheduled for September 30-October 1st, 2022, the family-friendly Squealin' on the Square outdoor festival in Laurens, SC was canceled due to weather and has been rescheduled for this coming weekend October 7-8th, 2022. Don't miss it!

Check out this recent article from Only In Your State, which highlights the town of Due West in their list of '11 Small Towns In Rural South Carolina That Are Downright Delightful.' As they mention, Due West is unique from so many other rural towns because it was built around a church rather than a railroad station. From its formation around the end of the 18th century until today, we agree Due West is a "delightful" town to visit!

  • And finally, you don't want to miss Stevens Creek Heritage Preserve in McCormick County, SC which is home to fifteen rare and several endangered flowers and plants. The area's unique bedrock makes it one of only two places on earth the Miccosukee Gooseberry grows natively. The 1.9-mile hike is perfect for a crisp fall day!
