Golf Skills: Get Ready To Swing!

Before you hit a great shot, you’ve got to get ready the right way! “Get Ready to Swing” is all about your setup — how you stand, aim, and hold your club before you swing. Just like superheroes have a stance before they leap into action, golfers have a special setup that helps them feel strong, balanced, and confident.

Start by standing tall with your feet shoulder-width apart. Make sure your toes are pointing straight ahead and your knees are slightly bent. Hold your club gently — not too tight! — and aim it toward your target. Your eyes should be looking at the ball, and your body should feel relaxed but ready. When you’re set up like this, your swing becomes smoother and more powerful.

Practicing your setup helps you feel more in control and makes every shot more fun. Next time you’re on the course or the range, take a moment to “Get Ready to Swing” before each shot. You’ll be surprised how much better your swing feels when you start with a strong setup. Let’s keep learning, practicing, and swinging with confidence!

Life Skills: Collaborating With Others

Golf might seem like a solo sport, but some of the best moments happen when we work together as a team. Whether you're playing in a scramble, helping a friend find their ball, or cheering someone on after a great shot, collaboration helps everyone enjoy the game more. When we share ideas and encourage each other, we build friendships that last beyond the course.

Being a good teammate means listening, taking turns, and showing respect. If someone has a great idea for how to play a hole, give it a try! If a teammate is feeling nervous, a high five or kind word can make a big difference. Great teams don’t always win because they’re the best players—they win because they support each other and have fun together.

Next time you're on the course, think about how you can help your group work better together. Can you be the one who keeps everyone smiling? Can you help decide which shot to use in a scramble? Collaboration is like a superpower—it makes golf more exciting and helps you grow as a player and a friend.
