Leave some Leaves

Raking, blowing, and composting season is showing signs of slowing down. But don’t forget to leave a few piles of leaves here and there for the critters. Spiders, moths, and native bees need insulated nesting sites to survive the harshness of winter and to provide camouflage to protect them from predators. As leaves slowly break down over the winter, they also provide essential nutrients to the soil while insulating roots, bulbs, and the like.

It is important to learn about our environment if we are to be good stewards of the land we share with other living things—even if only on a small neighborhood patch. If we listen to nature’s whisper in our midst, wherever we happen to be, we may hear the invitation to actualize bodhicitta for the land.

Speaking of bodhicitta, we are beginning our fall fundraiser. We hope to receive $6500.00 in addition to our usual monthly contributions. Thanks for your past support and future kindness. Together, we are planting Dharma seeds in our community that will sprout and grow into compassion for all.

Much Love,

🙏🏼🍂🪷🌎 Michael

We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous.

We experience joy in the actual act of giving something.

And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given."
