LIVING THE LITURGY

Wednesday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m.

We will begin a class series called Living the Liturgy. Our first session, on Wednesday at 6:30, will discuss preparation for the Liturgy, focusing on the way in which the gifts of bread and wine are prepared for the service, and how we must prepare ourselves.

We will meet in person in the conference room near the Church office, and by Zoom.

ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE

You've got questions, Fr. George has answers!

LATEST QUESTION & ANSWER (November 5)

Ask by email or text - little to big questions - like what to do with inherited religious icons, etc? What to do with old palm crosses? Bottles with holy water? What is God's Grace?

We are starting this section in the weekly bulletin for all ages to ask questions of Fr. George. Please write/email your questions to the church office with your name and contact information. (If you request it, your name will not be shared.) Some questions will be quick answers and others may become a sermon.

Fr. George will answer your questions in the weekly bulletin, and we will all learn more.

MINISTRIES

Christmas Pageant Time

Is Almost Here!

This year Christmas Eve (December 24) is on a Sunday and the Church School Christmas Pageant will take place following Divine Liturgy. We are looking for someone or a team to lead this important and adorable effort. Please contact Judy Gray or Maria Decoulos if you’re interested, and we’ll pass along all the information. Thank you for considering.

STEWARDSHIP ~ NURTURES US

This new section posts ideas from various ministries. Some may stimulate us to think more broadly about what it means to be a Steward. Some may open up interesting conversations.

How do you react when you don't get your way? When a communal decision is made, do you always have to win? Why do you think that is? After all, no one is right all the time. On the other hand, what do you do when your idea succeeds and is chosen? Are you gracious to others? We are the Body of Christ as a Church, and we need to function as a body. What matters is not the exaltation of any particular member, but the health of the whole body. Whether our decisions prevail or not, we can still strengthen the body by moving forward in harmony and friendship with the Church of Christ. Tell us your views during Fellowship hour.

RENOVATION COMMITTEE

The Renovation Committee has been working diligently to address our future plans.  Our architects Dan Barton and Colby Cavanagh from Maugel DeStefano will be addressing the General Assembly on November 12th to discuss our needs and how they plan to design revisions to our building spaces. They will be first on the agenda.

Please come to the General Assembly to listen to our progress and how our future spaces may change. We need to hear from and would love your feedback!

Renovation Committee co-chairs, Carol Bearse and Jim Decoulos

Weekly Offering

Thank you for continuing to support our St. Nicholas

Hello Family and Friends,

As most of you know, our 11-year-old daughter Leah has been battling brain cancer for two and a half years now. The only hope for a cure for this horrible disease is through new advances in medicine. We have already participated in one clinical trial without curative results. Leah and all the kids like her need more options.

We started fundraising for the Medulloblastoma Initiative last year and reached our goal of $50,000.
