A Season of Change, Celebration, and Connection
As the seasons change and we welcome the beautiful colors of fall, there's a special feeling in the air here at Park Place. The past few months have brought new faces, new friendships, wonderful celebrations, and plenty of reasons to be grateful. While change is a natural part of life, one thing remains constant: the genuine love and care that make Park Place such a special place to call home.
Looking back on the summer, one event that certainly stands out is our Classic Car Show in late July! What an incredible evening of beautiful cars, music, root beer floats, and, most importantly, time spent together. Seeing our residents, families, staff, and friends enjoying the evening was a wonderful reminder of what community is all about. We are already looking forward to making this a new Park Place tradition!
Throughout this newsletter, you'll find highlights from our departments, celebrations of our outstanding employees, and a glimpse into the many activities and experiences that fill our days. Behind each of these moments are dedicated team members who bring our mission to life.
| | |
When we practice our core values, a culture of genuine loving care comes naturally. To our incredible staff, thank you for demonstrating those values each day. Your kindness, compassion, and commitment make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families.
As we look toward the holiday season, we are especially excited for the traditions and celebrations ahead. Please save the date for our annual Holiday Party on Thursday, December 10! This open-house-style celebration is one of our favorite opportunities to welcome families and friends into our community to share in the joy of the season. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
| | |
Thank you to our residents, families, and team members for being part of the Park Place family. Whether you've been with us for years or have just recently joined our community, you are an important part of what makes this place so special.
Here's to a season filled with gratitude, togetherness, and wonderful memories yet to be made!

New Faces, New Friends, New Memories
There's something special about watching a community grow! Over the past few months, we've had the pleasure of welcoming many new faces to Park Place. And with every new resident comes the opportunity for new friendships, meaningful connections, and wonderful memories.
As we approach the holiday season, we're reminded of all the little things that make a place feel like home. Maybe it's the aroma of a favorite family recipe, decorating for the holidays, sharing stories around the table, or simply enjoying time with those we love. Often, it's the simplest moments that bring us the greatest joy.
The holidays have a beautiful way of connecting us to treasured memories and traditions. But there's something equally wonderful about creating new ones! One of our favorite parts of welcoming new residents is watching those connections unfold. A friendly hello in the hallway turns into a conversation over coffee. A shared activity sparks a new friendship. Before long, familiar faces become friends, and friends become family.
| | |
As our Park Place family continues to grow, so does the sense of belonging that makes our community so special. This holiday season, we encourage everyone to make room at the table, introduce yourself to a new neighbor, share a favorite tradition, and perhaps even start a new one together.
Whether you've called Park Place home for years or have just recently joined us, you are an important part of our story. Each resident brings unique experiences, memories, and personality that enrich our community in countless ways.
Here's to new beginnings, lasting friendships, and a holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and wonderful memories!
Community is more than a place. It's how you feel!

A Season of Gratitude and Helpful Reminders
As the beautiful colors of fall surround us and the holiday season approaches, there's so much to look forward to here at Park Place! From welcoming our little ghosts and goblins for trick-or-treating to gathering for Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, this is truly a special time of year. We look forward to sharing these wonderful traditions with our residents and families!
As we approach the end of the year, we'd also like to share a few helpful reminders from the Business Office.
| | |
Insurance Updates: This is a common time of year for insurance changes. If you or your loved one will have updated insurance coverage, please make sure the Business Office receives a current copy of your insurance cards so we can keep our records accurate and up to date.
ALIS Connect: We're continuing to expand the ways we use ALIS Connect to make important information and services more convenient for residents and families. Through this platform, you can review and sign care plans and room change forms, pay your bill online, view invoices, and more! If you haven't explored ALIS Connect yet or have questions about getting started, we're happy to help.
Third-Party Billing: As a friendly reminder, billing questions related to outside providers, including Omnicare and laboratory services, should be directed to those providers. These services handle their billing independently from Park Place.
Above all, we want our residents and families to know how much we appreciate the trust you place in us. It's a privilege to serve you, answer your questions, and help make life at Park Place a little easier.
Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season filled with warmth, gratitude, and joy!

Making Memories, Sharing Moments, and Welcoming the Season
As the seasons change and we welcome the cooler months, there's so much to look forward to in our Varietas Memory Care Neighborhood! Our team continues to find meaningful ways to bring joy, connection, and purpose to each day through engaging activities, familiar traditions, and opportunities to make new memories together.
Over the past few months, our residents have enjoyed everything from creative arts and crafts and seasonal treats to music, outings, and our monthly Memory Care Café gatherings. Whether we're sharing stories, enjoying a little pampering, or celebrating with family and friends, these moments remind us that it's often the simplest experiences that bring the greatest smiles.
We're especially excited about the fall and winter Memory Care Café events our activities team has planned. These gatherings are wonderful opportunities for residents and their loved ones to spend quality time together, share experiences, and create special memories. We encourage families to watch for upcoming dates and details through email and community postings.
As we approach Christmas, we also hope to share another Amazon Wish List to support our Memory Care activities. These thoughtful contributions help our team continue providing engaging and enriching experiences for our residents. Please watch for more information as the holidays approach!

A Few Seasonal Reminders for Families
With the arrival of cooler weather, we encourage families to enjoy a walk or stroll around our community with their loved ones whenever the weather allows. A little fresh air and a chance to admire the changing seasons can make for a wonderful afternoon!
Now is also a great time to check your loved one's wardrobe for warmer clothing, including sweaters and jackets. Please make sure all personal items are clearly labeled with initials or names to help us return belongings to their proper rooms. Although residents' laundry is washed separately, items can occasionally become misplaced. We also recommend choosing comfortable, easy-care clothing rather than expensive or delicate garments, as personal laundry is washed and dried together without separating light and dark colors.
| | |
Please stop by the business office to learn about our new procedure for purchasing meal tickets.
We also encourage all families to label clothing with the resident's name and periodically go through closets to remove items that no longer fit or are no longer appropriate. Comfortable and well-fitting clothing is more easily managed and helps our staff support residents while assisting with their care daily.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We appreciate you sharing your loved ones with us.

Varietas Memory Care Director

Making Memories, One Adventure at a Time!
If there's one thing we know at Park Place, it's that there's never a shortage of reasons to celebrate, explore, and have a little fun! The past few months have been filled with laughter, new experiences, familiar favorites, and plenty of moments worth remembering.
| | |
Out and About!
Our residents have been on the move! From exploring the Fort Wayne Museum of Art to enjoying scenic country drives (with a stop for ice cream, of course!), we've loved getting out and experiencing all our community has to offer.
We've also introduced a new monthly thrifting adventure for residents who enjoy a little treasure hunting! It's a fun twist on our traditional shopping outings, and you never know what unique finds might come home with us. Most recently, we welcomed fall with a trip to the pumpkin patch, soaking up the beautiful autumn weather and all the sights of the season.
| | |
A Taste of Traditions — and a Little Mystery!
Our monthly Taste of Traditions celebrations continue to bring creativity, culture, and excitement to Park Place!
We traveled to the tropics for an unforgettable End-of-Summer Luau, complete with festive food, music, dancing, and even fire dancers! Our African Safari celebration brought a taste of adventure through themed experiences, food, and fun.
And then there was the mysterious case of the missing clocks! Our Park Place Clock Caper transformed the community into a lighthearted whodunit, complete with suspects, clues, and plenty of laughter. Residents helped unravel the mystery, only to discover that the clocks had been taken in an attempt to stop time and enjoy even more moments together at Park Place. Who knew a little mystery could be so much fun?
Each celebration is a wonderful reminder that there's always something new to experience, no matter our age!

A Classic Evening to Remember
Of all the wonderful moments we've shared, one event may have stolen the show: our Classic Car Show in July!
What an incredible evening! Beautiful classic cars lined our campus as residents, families, friends, and neighbors gathered to admire the vehicles, enjoy music, sip root beer floats, and reminisce about days gone by. The stories shared, smiles exchanged, and memories sparked made the evening especially meaningful.
The response was so wonderful that we're already looking forward to making this a beloved Park Place tradition!
The Little Moments Matter, Too
While our big celebrations are certainly memorable, some of our favorite moments happen during everyday activities. From cardio drumming and chair yoga to baking, arts and crafts, music, and spontaneous dance parties, our calendar is filled with opportunities to try something new, discover a hidden talent, or simply enjoy time with friends.
As we head into the holiday season, there's even more excitement ahead! We look forward to sharing familiar traditions, festive celebrations, and plenty of opportunities to make new memories together.
Don't Miss Out on the Fun!

A Healthy Season Starts With All of Us!
As we welcome the beautiful colors of fall and prepare for the cooler months ahead, the health and well-being of our residents remain among our highest priorities here at Park Place.
With cold and flu season approaching, it's a good time to remember that even the smallest steps can make a big difference in keeping our community healthy!
A Little Prevention Goes a Long Way!
One of the simplest and most effective ways to help prevent the spread of germs is frequent handwashing. We encourage residents, staff, and visitors to wash their hands regularly with soap and water, especially before meals, after using the restroom, and after coughing or sneezing.
We also kindly ask family members and friends who are feeling under the weather to postpone visits until they feel better. If you're a resident experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, please notify our Wellness team and remain in your apartment until your symptoms improve or as advised by your healthcare provider.
These small acts of consideration help protect not only us but also our friends and neighbors.
| | |
Flu Season Reminders
Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual flu vaccination clinic at the end of September!
If you weren't able to receive your flu vaccine during our clinic, we encourage you to make arrangements to visit a local pharmacy, such as Meijer, Walgreens, or CVS.
Need a ride? Our transportation services may be able to help! Simply speak with our reception team about scheduling the community van for a pharmacy visit.
Caring for One Another
At Park Place, wellness is about more than just staying healthy. It's about looking out for one another and creating an environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and cared for.
Thank you to our residents, families, and staff for doing your part to help keep our community healthy throughout the changing seasons.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and wonderful fall and winter!
Warmly,
Mimi Newman
Wellness Director
