Fall Holiday Activity Guide

The Fall/Holiday edition of The Oak Leaf is being delivered to resident homes this week. Resident registration begins August 5. Non-resident registration opens August 12. If you do not receive your guide by August 2, please email marketing@plfdparks.org with your name and address and we will mail you a copy.

Cruise to Village Green

Stop by the pavilion at Village Green from 5 to 7 p.m., tonight for special activities, crafts, giveaways and fun! There is no need to register for this FREE event.

Fall Adult Softball Leagues

Registration is now OPEN for our fall adult softball leagues (men's and co-ed). Leagues consist of a 10-game regular season with a single-elimination tournament. Games are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Four Seasons Park beginning August 14. Captains may register their team, or individuals may register to play on the free agent team (provided enough players register). Registration deadline is Friday.

Traveling StoryWalk

The next StoryWalk event is set for 6 to 8 p.m., August 7 at Tamarack Settlement, W. 127th Street in Plainfield. Join the Plainfield Area Public Library for, "Wake Up, Trucks!" by Jodie Parachini with a craft provided by the Park District and a frozen street by the Plainfield Police Department. This is a FREE event. No registration is necessary.

Ice Cream Social

Escape the heat and cool down with some frozen dessert by coming to the Ice Cream Social 4 to 6 p.m., August 8 at Village Green! Admission includes activities, games/prizes, after-hour access to the splash pad; and, of course, an amazing scoop of ice cream!

Jammin' in August

Todd Downing Tall Tales & Silly Songs will entertain the little ones (ages 2-6) for FREE 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., August 9 at Village Green. No registration is necessary. This is a make-up of the Jammin' in June Concert that was cancelled June 25.

Fall Athletic League Deadlines

Registration deadlines are fast approaching for several fall athletic leagues

Rockin' the Green

Plainfield’s very own School of Rock performs starting at 5 p.m., August 27 at the final Cruise to Village Green. The Park District also will be on hand under the pavilion with FREE blow-up guitars for the first 50 kids.
