September Edition

A Season to Reset, Reground & Reconnect

There’s something about September that naturally feels like a fresh start.

Summer begins to slow down, schedules become more predictable, the air starts to change, and many of us find ourselves craving a little more structure again. But a “reset” doesn’t have to mean a strict diet, an overwhelming wellness plan, or trying to change everything at once.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply come back to the basics.

This month, I’m encouraging you to use the changing season as an opportunity to check in with your body, notice what it needs, and create a few simple rhythms that will help you feel your best heading into fall.

3 Signs Your Body May Be Asking for a Reset

As routines shift and summer winds down, it’s common to notice that your body feels a little different. Sometimes the signs are subtle, but they can be a good reminder to slow down, check in, and give yourself a little extra support.

1. Your energy feels off

If you’re dragging through the day, relying more heavily on caffeine, or hitting an afternoon wall, it may be time to look at the basics—sleep, hydration, blood sugar balance, stress, movement, and nutrition.

2. Your digestion has changed

More bloating, constipation, irregularity, or feeling uncomfortable after meals can be a sign that your digestive system needs some attention. Small changes in food choices, hydration, fiber, stress, and meal timing can make a meaningful difference.

3. You just don’t feel like yourself

Poor sleep, stronger cravings, feeling more stressed, difficulty concentrating, or simply feeling “off” can sometimes be your body’s way of asking for a little more care.

A reset doesn’t have to mean an extreme cleanse or starting over. Often, it’s about getting back to the foundations—nourishing food, quality sleep, hydration, movement, stress support, and listening to what your body is telling you.

Not sure where to start? A wellness assessment can help us take a closer look at your current patterns and create a more personalized path forward.

Meet ZYTO: A More Personalized Look at Your Wellness

We’re excited to now offer ZYTO wellness assessments through both Crossway Holistic Health and Just Breathe Wellness.

ZYTO uses a simple hand cradle to measure changes in your skin’s response while the software presents a variety of wellness-related stimuli.

The results can help highlight areas worth exploring further, including things like nutrition, stress, sleep, digestion, foods, environmental factors, and general wellness support.

Think of it as another piece of the puzzle.

Your results are reviewed with you in an easy-to-understand way, helping us look for patterns, ask better questions, and take a more personalized approach to your wellness.

Simple. Non-invasive. Personalized.

Whether you’re curious about what your body may be responding to, want another layer of insight to complement your current wellness plan, or simply enjoy learning more about your body, a ZYTO assessment can be a helpful tool along the way.

ZYTO assessments are available with Amy at Crossway Holistic Health or Courtney at Just Breathe Wellness. Reach out to either of us to learn more or schedule your assessment.

ZYTO is a wellness assessment tool and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.

Fall Wellness Tip

Support Your Immune System Before Sick Season

As we move into fall, schedules get busier, daylight gets shorter, and we start spending more time indoors. This is a great time to strengthen the everyday habits that help support a healthy immune system.

The good news? Immune support doesn’t have to be complicated.

Prioritize sleep

Consistent, quality sleep plays an important role in immune function, recovery, and resilience.

Eat enough protein and whole foods

Protein provides the building blocks your body needs for repair and immune function. Pair it with colorful fruits and vegetables for a variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Stay hydrated

Even mild dehydration can leave you feeling sluggish. Keep water nearby throughout the day and aim for steady hydration rather than trying to catch up at night.

Support your gut

A large part of the immune system is closely connected with the digestive tract. Fiber-rich foods, fermented foods when tolerated, and a diverse whole-food diet can help support a healthy gut environment.

Manage stress where you can

Chronic stress can take a toll on sleep, digestion, energy, and immune function. Even small habits—walking, quiet time, deep breathing, prayer, stretching, or time outside—can help.

Check your vitamin D status

Vitamin D plays a role in normal immune function, and levels can begin to fall as sun exposure decreases. Testing can be helpful before supplementing heavily so you know what your body actually needs.

Think Prevention, Not Perfection

You don’t need a cabinet full of supplements to support your immune system. The strongest foundation is often the simple things done consistently: sleep well, nourish your body, move regularly, stay hydrated, and make room for recovery.

Fall is a great time to check in with your habits now—before the busy holiday season begins.

Turn Up the Heat: Why Infrared Sauna Belongs in Your Fall Wellness Routine

As the pace of life picks back up in September, sometimes your body needs something simple: a chance to slow down, warm up, and reset.

Unlike a traditional sauna that primarily heats the air around you, an infrared sauna uses infrared light to gently warm the body, creating a comfortable, deeply relaxing experience.

Many people incorporate infrared sauna sessions into their wellness routine to support:

  • Relaxation and stress management
  • Healthy circulation
  • Muscle recovery and post-exercise comfort
  • A healthy sweat response
  • Rest and overall well-being

And sometimes, the biggest benefit is simply having a quiet space to unplug for a little while.

A Little Fall Self-Care Goes a Long Way

Wellness doesn’t always need to mean adding more to your to-do list. Sometimes it means intentionally creating space to rest, restore, and recharge.

An infrared sauna session can be a wonderful addition to your fall routine—whether you’re recovering from a busy week, pairing it with other healthy habits, or simply carving out some much-needed time for yourself.

Infrared sauna sessions are available at Just Breathe Wellness.

Infrared sauna is intended for general wellness and relaxation and is not a substitute for medical care. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, take medications that affect heat tolerance or blood pressure, or have concerns about sauna use, check with your healthcare provider first.

A Final Thought for September

As we head into a new season, remember that wellness doesn’t have to come from doing everything perfectly.

Often, it starts with simply paying attention, making a few intentional changes, and giving your body the support it needs.

Whether that means improving your sleep, nourishing yourself a little better, carving out time to rest, or taking a deeper look at what may be contributing to how you feel, small steps can add up.

We’re grateful to be part of your wellness journey and look forward to supporting you throughout the season ahead.

Until next time, here’s to a healthier, more balanced fall!
