Check out my take on how positivity works with regard to our health and how to put it into practice in your everyday life.

With my science background I like to geek out on research and found it interesting that there are numerous studies published talking about the benefits of allowing positivity to guide your life.

In a study done at the Mayo Clinic they found that positive self talk was correlated with enhanced cardiovascular health, longer lifespan, and improved immune function.

Can you think of an area in your life that could use a positive reframing?

Best of health!

Recipe of the Month - Skin Beauty Salad
A tasty salad packed full of skin essential ingredients and topped with a dressing that looks like a beauty spa facial mask. Why not eat it instead? Pair it with a nourishing sleep mask and you will be glowing inside and out! We love Environ’s Revival Mask!
Skin Beauty Salad
Prep Time: 30 min. | Yield: 10 servings | Calories: 155
Ingredients

2 handfuls of baby spinach
1 carrot, grated or shredded
2 radishes, sliced paper thin
2 small cucumbers, sliced in half lengthways
1 small red onion, sliced super thin
3 limes, juiced
Ingredients cont.

1 avocado
1 tbsp. raw apple cider vinegar
 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
 1 tsp raw honey
1 handful of fresh soft herbs (works best with dill, coriander or basil leaves)
 ¼ tsp unrefined sea salt
Preparation

1.  Put the sliced onion in a small bowl with the lime juice to soak for at least 10 minutes. If you do this ahead of time, leaving it to soak for an hour or more creates an even softer, sweeter, pinker result
2.  Scoop the seeds out of the cucumbers with a teaspoon and throw the seeds into your blender; chop the cucumbers
3.  In a large bowl, arrange the leaves, cucumber, carrot and radish. Take the onion out of the lime juice and add this to the salad too
4.  Add to the blender the left-over lime juice, avocado, vinegar, cayenne, honey, herbs and salt. Blend until smooth; you may need to add a dash of water to facilitate blending. Adjust seasoning to taste
5.  Dollop dressing generously on your salad, mix through before eating

Special Note:

Onions and arugula are high in sulfur, a beautifying mineral which cleanses the liver and skin. Additionally, radishes and cucumber are high in silica, which is necessary for the strengthening and moisturizing of hair, skin and nails.

Q & A with Beth
What does a scrub actually do and how often should I be using one?

Exfoliation is vital to every skin care routine! Using a polishing cream or a non-abrasive enzyme will help remove dead skin cells resulting in instant smoother brighter texture and tone. Not only will your home care routine work better, but your makeup with go on perfectly smooth!

I recommend The Essentials Polish+Perfect if you like something with a grit to it. Or, choose an enzyme mask like Environ’s Revival Mask!

Feeling extra fancy? Use them both! Exfoliate with Polish+Perfect then sleep in the Revival Mask!
