Congratulations Hyland Hills!
Hyland Hills is honored to have been recognized by the Westminster Chamber of Commerce as the 2021 Large Business of the Year at their annual event held on October 8th!

The award was presented for the District’s involvement with the Chamber and the portfolio of assets the District shares with the community including Water World, Adventure Golf and Raceway, the Ice Centre at the Promenade and the Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills. Each of these facilities have hosted Chamber events in the recent past.

Waddell Park Improvements
Moving Ahead

If you have noticed a lot of activity at Waddell Park located at Federal Boulevard and US 36, it’s good news because the park is getting some needed upgrades! Scheduled improvements include cutting the infield lips, widening the warming tracks, removing the old infield mix and adding a new subbase. Subsequently, a new infield mix is being added and the fields are being laser leveled, creating a more consistent playing surface and better drainage.

Players will be so excited to see these improvements and the amazing progress that has already been made so we’ll be able to continue to Play Ball

Trees Trees and More Trees!

Hyland Hills is busy planting dozens of trees of a mixed variety in parks around the District. These photos are at Bell Roth, Sherrelwood, and Rotary Parks. The trees beautify the District, provide shade for parkgoers, and provide a home for birds and other wildlife.

To the Hyland Hills parks crew, the trees become an important park of the Hyland Hills family, as one staffer said, “these trees are like our children - we care for them and want them to grow into old age!”

Water World Horticulturist
Shares Expert Advice
In late September, Water World’s horticulturist, John Navant, shared his knowledge of plant life and what it does for a great park’s guest experience, with 40 students from Colorado State University. The students had Herbaceous plant questions including insect, weed and disease issues along with design, care, irrigation, fertilization and propagation. The University’s professor, Dr. Jim Klett brought the class down to look at Water World's award-winning gardens and displays. The tour was a big hit with the students gleaning important information that will help them in their current projects, such as designing and installing gardens in and around the Fort Collins area.
