Dear Valued Patrons,

The calendar says October, but we're still dreaming of cooler weather. Regardless of the temperature, we're excited to invite you to join us for our annual Harvest Hoopla on Saturday, October 18th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM! This free community festival will feature games, activities and family fun right here on the library lawn. All games and activities are completely free to enjoy. We've timed the event to end just in time for you to head downtown for Prattville's Parade of Pumpkins. We'll also have a special fundraiser, called the "Pumpkin Smash Raffle." Community members can purchase tickets for a chance to choose and smash a pumpkin containing hidden prizes – creating unforgettable memories while supporting our new library building project. Come prepared for an afternoon of fall festivities that the whole family will love!

I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in our "Help Bear the Build" fundraiser. We were absolutely astounded by the incredible community support – together, we sold 85 bears and raised $1,224 for our new library building! Your generosity continues to amaze us and demonstrates the strong commitment our community has to ensuring a bright future for library services. We can't wait to see you at Harvest Hoopla as we continue building memories and building our future together!

Warm regards,

Tammy Bear

Children: Ten Little Birds/Diez Pajaritos By: 123 Andrés

Count to 10 and back again with Latin Grammy Award-winning children's musical duo 123 Andrés in this bilingual board book!

Each of the 10 birds is given a fun and silly personality, and children will love to follow along as each flies away - and escapes a lurking kitty!

Adults: The Alloy of Law

By: Brandon Sanderson

Set three hundred years after the original Mistborn trilogy in a modernizing world of railroads and skyscrapers, this story follows Waxillium Ladrian, a gunslinging lawman with magical abilities who is forced to leave the frontier and return to the dangerous political intrigue of the noble houses in the metropolis of Elendel.

There are many meaningful ways to support the Autauga Prattville Public Library! If you're looking to make a financial contribution, we offer several donation categories to match your giving preferences: General Donations that support our daily operations, Building Fund contributions toward our new facility, In Honor of Gifts to celebrate someone special, and In Memoriam Gifts to honor a loved one's memory.

If you'd prefer to contribute your time instead, we'd love to have you join our volunteer team! Our volunteers are truly the heart of what makes our library such a special place. Whether you're passionate about helping children discover the magic of reading, assisting with special events, or prefer the satisfying work of shelving books (trust us, on busy days this is a lifesaver!), there's a perfect volunteer opportunity waiting for you.

We believe in finding the right fit for everyone, so when you're ready to get started, just give us a call. We'll sit down together and chat about your interests, availability, and how we can create a volunteer experience that works for us both. Ready to dive in? Contact our Director, Tammy Bear, at tbear@appl.info or 334-365-3396. We can't wait to hear from you and help you discover how rewarding library volunteering can be! Please note that volunteers must be 16 years or older and pass a background check to ensure everyone's safety and success.

Fire Safety & Fun Join us on Monday, October 21st at 10:30 AM when the Prattville Fire Department visits the library to teach our preschoolers about fire safety! This interactive program will help children learn important safety tips while getting their questions answered by real firefighters. It's educational fun that could save lives.

Spooky Music Bingo

Get ready for a frightfully fun evening! Join us on Wednesday, October 30th at 5:00 PM for Spooky Music Bingo – a Halloween twist on the classic game featuring spine-tingling tunes and monster hits. Bring your competitive spirit and prepare for some fun prizes in this adults-only event that's sure to be a scream!
