WRITE Center's Developmental Studies
We are creating an intervention consisting of professional development and various teacher- and student-facing tools to support argumentative writing in secondary school history classes. UCLAIMS is being developed from the research-based Pathway, C3WP, and SRSD interventions and our own exploratory work in secondary school history classes. We expect to test it in a randomized controlled trial during the 2022-23 school year. The UCLAIMS web page will highlight our exploratory work, some of our research measures, and, after the completion of the RCT, our intervention materials.

Write out 2021: Palettes, Storyboards, and Cadences
#WriteOut is a free two-week event, organized as a series of online activities where educators, students, and the public are invited to explore national parks and other public spaces to connect and learn through place-based writing and sharing.
Creating an Argument
Text Set
How do we design an effective text set based on topics our students care about? In this course, teachers will be supported in moving through a 5 step process to build a text set that they can immediately use to engage their students in argumentative writing.
