Fall Leaves are Peaking in Aspen!!!

Greetings Friends!

We have spectacular seasons here and each one is truly special. We are now in the approximate two week period of pure gold Aspen leaves. Night temps go below 40 and daytime pushes to 70 and it is really glorious. It is also the time of year when the bears try to fatten up and dump every trash can that is not tied down. Please keep out of their way- including your pets!

We had a terrific summer and are almost back to “normal” with less people in town as the rest of the world opened up. We now have a true “off season” which means parking is available. And you may get into a favorite restaurant last minute! By mid to late October, the town will get really quiet and many of us sneak away until Thanksgiving.

We will update you on the latest retail and restaurant changes before ski season!

ASPEN NEW DEVELOPMENTS UPDATE

Proposal for skylights slows RH project on Galena/Cooper

The proposal calls for five rooftop skylights; the main one would be operable and the four others fixed. The chief operating officer of RH recently said the retailer’s presence will invigorate downtown Aspen by day and wake it up at night, but they’ll need some help from the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission. White Elephant development quietly takes steps in Aspen

Site work for three residential chalets being advertised for $25 million each has started in the West End neighborhood as part of a Boston company's project that also calls for the redevelopment of the Hotel Aspen into a luxury boutique lodge. CLICK HERE

Jazz Aspen Snowmass’ future in historic downtown landmark secured

Nearly three years after Aspen City Council cleared the founder of Jazz Aspen Snowmass to launch a jazz performance and education center downtown, Jim Horowitz said he expects the project will get rolling before the year is over. The old beloved Red Onion restaurant should RE-open sooner rather than later and the second floor was approved for JAS -Jazz Aspen Snowmass to build a club. CLICK HERE

REAL ESTATE UPDATE

With about half the closings of a year ago, but similar dollar amount spent, the stage is being set for a correction. Many deals are happening with product that never hit the market. We are starting to see price reductions-but still on properties further away from the Aspen core. With the price of money rising so rapidly now, I do expect more product at lower prices coming on the Market. Let us know how we can help you buying or selling!
