Aspen fall is in its magnificent splendor!
GREETINGS FRIENDS!

Aspen was “fully open” this summer and every event we missed in 2020 came back. Jim Horowitz and his incredible team at JAS ASPEN during Labor Day weekend filled to capacity about 10,000 tickets-all outdoors. It was truly a celebration. Jimmy Buffet closed the event and beach balls were airborne!

Food and Wine followed with a smaller maximum of 2,500 from 5,000. It was so successful and sold out so early that it is scheduled for June 17-19, 2022 and will be back to normal. CLICK HERE

Several friends mentioned how crowded they thought Aspen was this summer. We ARE A RESORT TOWN!! We can help you find your piece of heaven in your private sanctuary. Many of us cooked at home and enjoyed our outdoor decks with our own food, wine, and great friends and family. We also know the best hikes, walks, bike ride places. NOTHING is crowded
like any city. We are so blessed and grateful to be in this valley. Remember, also, that our charming town of Basalt is only 20-30 minutes away with gold medal fishing on the Frying Pan, and even sailing, water skiing on Reudi Reservoir up the same road. Prices are much more reasonable too!

Now, we start to think about our ski season which opens in less than 2 months!! Our local weather “geek” announces his forecast, Saturday, Oct 2. He has consistently been within an inch or two of precipitation the past several winter and summer seasons. We will absolutely let you know in our next letter. He is hinting we skiers will LOVE it!
REAL ESTATE UPDATE
The market continues to surprise many of us long time brokers. Besides the square footage dollar amounts escalating, the most “outrageous” was a newer home that closed for over $3,000 a square foot in the east end (a very large number for that neighborhood), the broker flipped it into one-eighth interests for about $2,000,000 more the next week.

Maybe prices continue to rise at previously unheard of numbers, buyers will come in with their own partners?? I still maintain if a home needs updating or remodeling, it will be a “value” if you have the vision and desire to do it.

RESTAURANT UPDATE!
We took house guests from Florida to the Maroon Bells last Saturday. Then, Sunday, We drove over McClure Pass through Ouray and over Red Mountain Pass, also known as Little Switzerland of America, into Silverton.  We decided to rent an ATV and a “side by side” instead of pulling our own. What a splendid day of adventure! Living in our Aspen valley gives us so much opportunity to enjoy the magnificence of Colorado’s Western slope.
Off season is approaching which means we have less events and time to gear up for the holidays. We will keep you apprised in our next letter of upcoming events in the Winter Season!
