Ministry Update
Fall 2013
Greetings!

Pledge Humility

Humility = the fear of the Lord

"Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life."
Proverbs 22:4

Take this pledge seriously and it will be the most difficult thing you will ever do!

In the early 2000's, we had a series of youth gatherings called "Pure for God" some of which were themed, "Sexual Purity", "The Power of God", "Mission"; all were well attended and received. However, when we scheduled "Pure for God - PRIDE", we hit a wall.

Youth leaders said the topic wasn't interesting or relevant! Hmmmm......

We talk about "Every Man's Battle" and men will flock...but when you read the Bible isn't pride a bigger issue
and cause of failure than sex?

Isn't pride every man's BIGGER battle?
Isn't pride the first sin?
Isn't pride at the core of EVERY sin?

We pledge faithfulness in marriage.
We pledge for building campaigns.
We pledge all sorts of memberships.

It's child's play to keep them compared to keeping the daily pledge to be
humble.

Let's all kneel before Jesus on the Cross, humility personified, know he hangs there for OUR every thoughtless deed, word & thought; then realize He will climb down from there, rise above, rule and reign over every deed, word and thought in our life from here on out!

Humility = the fear of the Lord. THEY ARE THE SAME THING!

Today I wept when I listened to the song, "The Power of the Cross."  I encourage you to listen to it.  Then with great thought and intent, let's pray and commit ourselves to "Fear the Lord" and be humble with and before everyone.  Only through His Spirit is this possible.

When will we learn that when we allow God to produce HUMILITY in us...
all other sins KNEEL AND BOW.

The Power of the Cross

Oh, to see the dawn of the darkest day
Christ on the road to Calvary
Tried by sinful men, torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood

This, the power of the cross
Christ became sin for us
Took the blame, bore the wrath
We stand forgiven at the cross

Oh, to see the pain written on Your face
Bearing the awesome weight of sin
Ev'ry bitter thought, ev'ry evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow

Now the daylight flees, now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head
Curtain torn in two, dead are raised to life
Finished the vict'ry cry

Oh, to see my name written in the wounds
For through Your suffering I am free
Death is crushed to death, life is mine to live
Won through Your selfless love

This, the power of the cross
Son of God, slain for us
What a love, what a cost
We stand forgiven at the cross

Ministry Testimonial

Gabi Nonnenmann
Previous Managing Director of STEPS Ministries
Buffalo, NY

"The last five years of PFG teaching have really opened my eyes to the importance of us believers getting ready for our union with Christ and keeping ourselves blameless and pure until that day.  I feel I have come to know the Scripture better by using the Bible study method that was taught to me and now I can in turn teach others.  Brad doesn't only teach on popular Scripture, but is faithful to deliver what the Lord gives him to say.  The spiritual disciplines that PFG emphasizes have definitely enriched my life and are now part of my DNA and I am extremely thankful for the way my life has been impacted by Brad & Robin."

Late in July, STEPS bid farewell to their FAITHFUL worker, Gabi.  She has returned home to her native country of Germany to seek God's next step for her life.  We are SO GRATEFUL for the years of love and joy she has exhibited in reaching the Seneca - Babcock community of Buffalo for Christ.  Pure for God loves you Gabi!

What can we say about the Downtown Rescue Mission in Huntsville, Alabama where we recently spent 10 days?

WE LOVE IT!

Dedicated servants, Doc (Darwin) Overholt and Director, Keith Overholt have spent their days establishing this mission with a "Heart for the Homeless."

We sat with the HUNGRY, who came in for meals, and the hungry in heart enrolled in a one-year training program, showing hunger for God and desiring a NEW LIFE!  We taught and encouraged the NUMB, WOUNDED & ABUSED as they are trying to get some semblance to their lives.  We saw these dear ones so USED TO DRAMA in their lives, adjusting to living in a structured environment and in it finding relief and difficulty.  We saw their expressions as the Holy Spirit CONVICTED and ENCOURAGED their souls. We saw a few have to walk out the mission doors because of their ADDICTION SCREAMING in their ears to return.  We saw SIGNIFICANT GROWTH in many who have completed the one-year training and are remaining in the mission to serve.  We cheered on the six thrift store's 87 employees and the mission staff.  We shared our lives with them...our friends.

Thank you for your love and prayers,

Brad & Robin

How You Can Help

"By faith Abraham, when called to go . . .obeyed and went."

This is key to our relationship with Christ as a ministry and as individuals.  Faith.  Obedience.

As I write this, Pure for God faces needs.  Real needs that require real answers.  God has called us to minister to real people in real places.  We have the faith and we WILL go.

Are you the answer God wants to use?

Our immediate needs:

  • We were not able to reach our goal of $15,000 at our Golf Events and giving has been significantly down.  WE ARE IN GREAT FINANCIAL NEED.
  • As ministry opportunities grow (and they REALLY are!), so does our need for HELP!  Currently we are only able to employ Bonnie, our Development Manager for 20 hours/week.  WE NEED the funds to bring her on full time.
  • A camera.  In our ministry to "real people in real places" we need a quality camera to capture what God is doing and share it with you!
YOUR GIFT MATTERS.
