NJCRC partner Rebuild by Design has released an “Atlas of Disaster: New Jersey” report that sheds light on the devastating impact of climate disasters across New Jersey from 2011-21, with recent data extending to 2023.

NJDEP Receives $72 Million to Advance Resilience Projects Across Multiple Counties


The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has received a $72 million federal grant that will fund critical climate resilience projects through its Building a Climate Ready NJ initiative. The NJCRC is one of the 18 current project partners.

Submit Comment by Nov. 3 on Resilient Environments and Landscape (REAL) Rules


REAL seeks to modernize New Jersey’s environmental land use rules to respond to climate change by considering risks such as sea-level rise and chronic flooding, and to facilitate climate resilience by supporting green infrastructure and renewable energy.

Funding Opportunities

  • Stormwater Grant Funding Opportunity: The Barnegat Bay Partnership (BBP) has announced a grant funding opportunity for stormwater management implementation projects entirely within and/or benefitting overburdened communities. The BBP anticipates that a total of approximately $530,000 will be available to support one or more projects.
  • Climate Resilience Request for Proposals: The Chubb Charitable Foundation is currently accepting proposals from organizations that are implementing climate resilience solutions that have been tested and found effective in strengthening the resilience of the natural environment and/or vulnerable communities. If selected, organizations will receive up to $500,000 annually. Grant periods can range between one and three years.
