The 4-week internship introduced high school juniors and some seniors to industrial maintenance, electrician training, industrial automation, and Ag technology. Along with five different industry tours, the interns received their OSHA 10 certification, CTE math and soft skills training.

Students received up to $1,500 for completion of the internship through local sponsorship.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Jolene is the new CTE Career & Academic Success Coordinator!

Meet Jolene, our new CTE Career & Academic Success Coordinator on the Hanford Campus. Born and raised in the Central Valley, Jolene is a first generation college graduate from Fresno Pacific University, with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She has worked in every level of education, from preschool to the collegiate level, helping students reach their educational and career goals. Her passion for seeing those she works with succeed is invaluable to our team.

While employed within the college and career department at Dinuba Unified School District, she worked with career technical education students to create hands-on learning experiences, and to help develop soft-skills to better prepare them for the workforce. Her partnerships with businesses and the community, within the Tulare-Kings Counties will be a great asset for student success.

Jolene is here to assist students with career planning, job search tools and resources, creating resumes, and developing interview skills.

When she is not in the office, you will often find her spending time with family, traveling, four-wheeling, or volunteering with local non-profit organizations.

Stop by E91 to see what Hanford Career Services can do for you!

On Friday, March 31st over 2,300 Visalia Unified 6th Graders will be visiting the COS Visalia Campus to learn about programs, services and the many opportunities COS has to offer.

This is the first MAPS Day since 2019 and we are excited to welcome back our youth. We encourage all COS Academic programs to participate in the Program Showcase & Exhibition Fair for hands-on demonstrations to our future workforce.
