Welcome, New Board Members

Santhi & Lauren

We are delighted to announce that Santhi Analytis and Lauren Schiller have joined the Berkeley Public Library Foundation's Board of Directors!

Santhi Analytis

Santhi is an engineering leader and entrepreneur in climate technology and medical devices. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. She has always loved the library and its programs since childhood - participating in summer reading programs and winter plays at her local branches growing up. Santhi and her family, including two young children, live near the Claremont Branch.

Lauren Schiller

Lauren Schiller is the creator of numerous podcasts and radio

shows, including the nationally syndicated Inflection Point. She co-authored It’s a Good Day to Change the World: Inspiration and Advice for a Feminist Future with Hadley Dynak. She's a marketing consultant, a member of Commotion West Berkeley, and an active participant at KALW 91.7. She and her husband have lived in Berkeley since 1997. Their two daughters were raised here and began going to the library as babies!

Rosa Shattuck Circle Reception 2023

Join the Circle

On Friday, October 20, we hosted our annual Rosa Shattuck Circle reception to celebrate the generosity of our Circle members! About 75 of us gathered in the Mystery Room at Central for refreshments before enjoying an engaging and timely conversation about censorship with Bay Area authors Dorothy Lazard, Dashka Slater, and Maggie Tokuda-Hall, moderated by Lauren Schiller.

After a series of book giveaways to some lucky winners, Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore was on hand to offer our attendees an opportunity to purchase books and get them signed by the authors. Many of us left with an armful!
