FALL 2018
Join the Women’s Endowment Fund as we celebrate uplifting women and girls in our community during our “For Women, Forever” annual dinner on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Goodyear Hall in Akron. This year’s keynote speaker is GOJO Executive Chair, Marcella Kanfer Rolnick. During the event, we will also announce Norma Rist, president of Norma J. Rist CEO Consulting Inc., as the fourth recipient of the Judith A. Read Tribute Award for Service & Advocacy for Women.
As part of our strategic campaign to raise $125,000 annually through major gifts, the
Women’s Endowment Fund is inviting
members to join our new Circle of Empowerment. Fundraising through our
Circle of Empowerment will help bolster
our grantmaking efforts to provide more
impactful support to local causes that
inspire, empower and educate women
and girls throughout Akron and all of
Summit County.

I’m grateful there are so many hopeful for the future, who are motivated to act to make a difference. Thank you for your support, your commitment, your volunteerism, for whatever you do to help advance the Women’s Endowment Fund’s mission to uplift women and girls in Summit County. Your contribution is valued.
Accentuating her lifelong commitment to empowering women and girls in our community, the highly anticipated Judith A. Read Tribute Award sculpture created by gifted local artist, Leandra Drummis on display in the lobby of Akron Community Foundation.
The Women’s Endowment Fund celebrated a record nearly $60,000 raised during its SHEro campaign throughout the month of April. Helping surpass our fundraising goal by nearly $10,000, 36 local ambassadors committed to raise at least $1,000 each through their personal and professional networks.
WEF welcomes new board members: The Women’s Endowment Fund recently welcomed three new community leaders to its advisory board. These women bring a wealth of experience to the board and have already taken on committee leadership roles, with Wendy Bolas co-chairing the SHEro campaign, Emily Browning serving as communications chair, and Lashawrida Fellows co-chairing our biannual forum.
Thank you to the generous donors who contributed to the Women's Endowment Fund from March 1 to Sept. 30, 2018. Your gifts will uplift and empower women and girls in our community for many years to come.
