Our 2025 Back to School Night Block Party was a huge success! Families had the chance to meet teachers and staff, explore classrooms, and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, games, prizes, delicious food, and lively music. The event was filled with fun! It was a perfect way to embrace our school year theme, Learning Without Limits.

We’re thrilled to unveil a refreshed Positive Behavior Incentives and Supports (PBIS) experience at FLC! Students can now earn and redeem Penguin Points/Bucks at our brand-new School Store, while families will enjoy a clearer, more user-friendly Communication Sheet. Plus, we’re introducing consistent and inclusive Birthday Celebrations for all students.
These updates come together to make recognition more meaningful, communication simpler, and celebrations even more joyful, creating a positive, connected school community for everyone!

IXL at FLC
This year at FLC, we are now using IXL, a dynamic learning program that provides individualized practice across a variety of subjects, including math, language arts, and science. It has been a great asset to supplement classroom learning, allowing students to work at their own pace, focus on their unique learning needs, and build mastery in key skills. Our students are hard at work, tackling challenges and exploring new concepts every day!
| | Thanks to a generous grant from the Jake Cassell Fund, our FLC students are enjoying experiences they might not have had otherwise, like the thrill of our Bike Riding Program! Picture students zooming across the playground, balancing carefully, gaining confidence with each pedal, and laughing as they navigate turns and obstacles. Along the way, they’re building coordination, strength, and self-assurance, all while having an unforgettable time being active outdoors. It’s more than just bike riding; it’s an adventure that helps our students grow in so many ways! | |
An Awesome October
October was a month of purpose, awareness, and community at FLC, as students and staff joined together to learn, lead, and show compassion through three important initiatives: Breast Cancer Awareness, Fire Safety, and Anti-Bullying. From creating vibrant Kindness Trees to designing heartfelt posters of support, our community embraced the idea that learning extends far beyond the classroom.
It’s about caring for one another, keeping each other safe, and growing together, lessons that will stay with us long after October ends.
