Inside Walnut Hills - Matching Donation Is Live NOW!
We are thrilled to launch our fundraiser and video series, Inside Walnut Hills!

Check out the fundraiser on ioby, where you can watch the first two videos in our series, highlighting our passionate entrepreneurs and current projects. Thanks to our generous sponsors, the next $10,000 donations will be matched!

Food Fridays
Every Friday since late March, we’ve been co-hosting emergency food box giveaways donated by Freestore Foodbank. Over 59,000 pounds of shelf-stable groceries have been placed in the hands of those in need!
You can also find Healthy Harvest Mobile Market (HHMM) in the parking lot at 954 E. McMillan on Friday's from 1-3pm. HHMM has made over $10,000 in sales since March, bringing fresh produce to residents who might be unable to get to a grocery store outside the neighborhood. Not only does HHMM accept EBT, but they also offer the matching Produce Perks program!
We've worked hard to build partnerships to bring other resources to residents too. We help distribute frozen, ready-to-eat meals, soupes, and fresh salads provided by Taste of Belgium, La Soupe, and Sleepy Bee Café. WHRF gives out healthy smoothies and sometimes the Unbelievabowl food truck serves healthy quinoa bowls on a donate-what-you-wish model. We are also joined by Church of the Advent's "Espresso Priest" Jason Oden giving out free cappuccinos. Equitas, our new neighborhood health clinic and pharmacy, joins with giveaways. Thanks to our partnership with Full Circuit, residents have received personal hygiene products and other supplies, in addition to receiving HHMM deliveries to their door.
We are so thankful to all of our partners! If you are a resident in need of help with food, cleaning supplies, or essential errands, reach out to Full Circuit.

Cincy Nice Transforms 5 Points Alley into a "Community Courtyard"
5 Points Alley experienced a new wave of energy this fall! Earlier this summer, Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation partnered with black-led community engagement and artist collective Cincy Nice to revitalize, manage and program the space.

After weeks of cleaning and updates through the generous help of neighborhood volunteers, 5 Points Alley welcomed a refreshed look and a new slate of safe, outdoor programming.

Weekly community events attracted hundreds of visitors with socially distant activities including weekly movement workouts hosted by Walnut Hills resident Savannah Sexton, stand up comedy nights organized by Fireside Pizza, live music experiences with the Redlight Jazz Room curated by Lex Nycole, an art print swap organized by neighborhood artist Prince Lang, a Q-Kidz dance recital and many more.
“5 Points Alley is a creative space for neighbors,” said Destinee Thomas, Cincy Nice co-founder. “We're so grateful for the partnerships that made this summer's revitalization possible and look forward to continued partnership with the community to add vibrancy into this shared space and to welcome visitors for the next season of events in early 2021.”

Frederick Douglass Elementary Murals
When H&R Block and Next Door announced Make Every Block Better, a nationwide competition to uplift communities and connect neighbors, our team member Gary Dangel sprung into action. Our nomination for a street mural in front of Frederick Douglass Elementary School was selected as one of 2,000 neighborhoods from across the country, hoping to promote safety, art, and nature!

Check out the video for footage of the mural! Read more about the project at Channel Five or ArtWorks.
