Creating and funding programs that help children and young adults with hearing loss participate fully in all aspects of life.
FROM OUR DIRECTOR
Greetings!
I hope everyone had a lovely summer and everyone is settled in their classes or school. We had a busy summer at FHSR with the highlights including the launch of our music therapy program and the return to in person events with our beloved Cheers for Ears free family concert!
Fall always seems like a transition time as the leaves start to turn and the weather gets cooler, I am sure you are seeing transitions in your child's development as well. FHSR is committed to supporting our DHH families through all these transitions.
I encourage you to utilize the vast amount of information on our website to support your family, join us for an upcoming event, or apply for our Music To My Ears Scholarship.,which provides a year of tuition-free music classes for deaf and hard of hearing children.
Community is powerful and we are thankful to have you here with us!

Happy Fall!

Early childhood classes (ages 0 - 4) feature unique small group music enrichment programs, where the focus is on creating a musical experience for your child. Singing and playing songs to support speech and language development; making music together as part of social and cultural connection with others; music making as part of personal enrichment and self-esteem. Listening to and making music with friends and family can provide fun adventures and new, exciting sounds to explore.

Individual Instrument & Group classes (4-16) will encourage continuing your child’s music education. Our partner schools have classes at the entry level up to expert for a wide range of instruments. Learn piano, strings, guitar or drums;

What is your WHY?
Getting to know the FHSR Board of Directors
and why they joined our Board
Anna Tess, Secretary
Board of Directors
Anna Tess has been involved with FHSR in many ways. As a volunteer, an Associate Board Member and now as the Secretary for the FHSR Board of Directors. Anna exemplifies success both personally and professionally.
Anna was thinking about her “why” and told us:
Being deaf does not define me but it is a part of me. Joining the FHSR Board has given me the opportunity to give back to individuals that have a hearing loss like me.
Being deaf has presented me with challenges in my life, many of these I have overcome and they have made me who I am today. My educators, family and therapist have given me the tools to be successful and I want to do that for individuals like myself. I am passionate about helping my students, parents and co-workers.
