A note from Kim, our Executive Director:

Home, according to the Webster dictionary, is defined as one’s place of residence.

Friendship House defines home as a loving and supportive community.

For us, home is where you feel safe, loved and accepted. Not everyone is fortunate to say they have truly felt “home.” Uniting people facing homelessness to a community where they can feel love and supported - a place they can call home - is our mission.

Facing Fears | Jane's Story

A Resident's Story

My story starts in a small town in South Jersey (Chatsworth) with a loving family and pretty much anything I needed. However, from as far back as I could remember I had always feared something. Whether it be death, failure, change, confrontation, rejection, success it didn’t matter I was fearful.

Meet our New Staff

Our Friendship House family is growing!

Cheryl Bryant is now our Job Readiness Coordinator at the Clothing Bank. She will focus on working with the job trainees to help them navigate the transition from prison to work, how to make goals for themselves, and how to achieve personal success.

Tim Keeler has joined our empowerment ministry staff as a Case Worker at our Wilmington Empowerment Center. He will be working closely with our clients to ensure they know what options exist for them and to help them navigate through the process of finding themselves a place a they can call home.

Kristen Reisor is our new Volunteer & Communications Coordinator! She will be your go to person if you want to volunteer. She will also manage our newsletters, website and social media. She would love to meet you, so please reach out to volunteer or to share why you already do!
