Partnership With Farmers State Bank

The Job Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with Farmers State Bank (FSB) of Waterloo, Iowa. FSB sponsored our 2021 Winter Shopping Day and was instrumental in ensuring our students received winter clothing and our families received holiday gift baskets. When asked about the new partnership, Vicki Parsons, VP of Human Resources said, "This is something we are very excited to start and we're looking forward to more opportunities to partner with The Job Foundation."

Dave & Jeanne Award

Two Long-Time Supporters Recognized for

Their Philanthropic Contributions

Dave & Jeanne Allbaugh were recognized at the AFP National Philanthropy Day for their creation of The Job Foundation Scholarship.

In 2019, Dave and Jeanne established “The Job Foundation Scholarship Fund”. This scholarship allows graduating students from our program financial assistance should they attend the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University, or Hawkeye Community College.

Because of this, Dave & Jeanne received the “Gift of Heart” award, in the category of philanthropy, for their continued efforts in the advancement of financial literacy and education for the students in the Cedar Valley.

The award was also accompanied with a $250 check, courtesy of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, which they so graciously decided to donate to The Job Foundation.

‘It’s so important to continue working with [Job Students] to help them get a career…that’s why we started the scholarship.” – said Dave in his acceptance speech.

Our organization is better because of both of you, and we are beyond thankful for the continued work to continue to do for the students in this program!

#GivingTuesday Recap

GivingTuesday is a global initiative inspiring those around the world to give back to their local communities. The idea behind the movement is simple: a day to do good.

This GivingTuesday was a great success for The Job Foundation, raising over $28,000. Because of the generous support from our community, we can now continue our vision of "All People Achieving Financial Success."

December Shopping Trip

Job Students Shop with Earnings

Education is the cornerstone of The Job Foundation program. Financial education happens in the classroom and in real-life situations. Elementary and middle school students are able to put what they learn into action during supervised shopping events.

At our December Shopping Day. students completed a spending plan, balanced their checkbook registers, and tracked their purchases.

We love seeing our financial lessons being put into practice for our Job Students!

Celebrating Job Students on Their Report Cards!

We celebrated our hard-working middle schoolers with a trip to Cadillac Lanes for their outstanding report cards! We're looking forward to Quarter Two grade celebration. Keep up the great work Job students!

Recap: Turkey Day

25 Turkeys Delivered to Our Families

By partnering with St. Stephen The Witness church, we were able to feed some of our families for Thanksgiving.

Turkeys, bread, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and so much more were delivered to feed our families. We are so grateful for this opportunity to partner with outstanding members and their church.

Become a mentor to help change the lives of students right here in our community!

The Job Foundation is a Certified Mentor Program in the State of Iowa and is looking for volunteers to help all people achieve financial success. By becoming a mentor to a Job student, you can help equip students with the knowledge, tools, and assets to become financially independent adults.

Join the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

Join the PAC, No Experience Needed!

The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is composed of parents with students currently enrolled. PAC members are responsible for planning lessons and the meal for Job Family Nights which are held 3 times per program year. PAC members also reach out to people within the community to be speakers for the event.

The commitment for being a PAC member is one program year. PAC members must complete an online application and pass a background records check.
