September programs & events to compliment the new school year!
Our school year dance program begins in late August/early September and culminates with a spring dance recital in May. Our team of professional dance instructors maintain a supportive, nurturing environment for our dancers. Classes are held at the Sullivan Community Center in the Aspen Dance studio. For more information regarding dance, please contact Julie Freels. FAMILY TRIVIA NIGHT
Sept. 9, 6:30-9 PM

Challenge your brain to a night of family trivia! Enjoy pizza and snacks with family while answering questions suitable for all ages. Prizes awarded to the top 3 teams!
WORLDWIDE DAY OF PLAY
Sept. 10, 11 AM-1 PM
Free Event!

Enjoy old school picnic games including sack race, hula hoop contests, egg toss, and more! No registration necessary! Just come to the park and be ready to play! This event will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
GLOW WALK
Sept. 14, 6:45-7:30 PM
Free Event!

Let’s light up the night on a “glow” walk through Century Park. All ages are welcome in addition to your pets! Arrive at 6:45 pm to receive your free glow stick, our walk begins at 7 pm. Wear your GO Vernon Hills t-shirt if you have one!

Zumba® Kids 7-11 years 9/8-10/20 Th 4:45-5:45 pm REGISTER
Zumba® Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. Kids jam out to their favorite music by learning simple steps and playing games while having fun. Kids gain confidence, coordination, and let their creativity shine in their dance moves!
Game On! Sports 4 Girls Multi Sport 4-7 yrs 9/10-10/22 Sa 9:15-10:15 am REGISTER
Learn a different sport every 1-2 weeks including soccer, basketball, tennis, softball, lacrosse, and volleyball in a fun, nurturing, and positive environment! Attention to teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, self-esteem, giving, and goal setting are incorporated into our program to
help the girls grow as athletes.
Soccer Shots Premier 5-8 yrs 9/10-10/29 Sa 10:40-11:25 am REGISTER
Individual skills, fitness, and sportsmanship, are emphasized providing an opportunity for kids to be challenged with progressive skills in a team setting. Players are introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner with team scrimmages.
iCook Baking and Sweets 5-12 yrs 9/1-10/6 Th 5-6 pm REGISTER
Young chefs learn about the art of dessert through this hands-on cooking class! Students gain confidence in the kitchen by baking, mixing, measuring, and creating recipes that satisfy their sweet tooth in a healthy and nutritious manner.
Co-ed Volleyball 9-13 yrs 9/12-10/24 M 6:30-7:30 pm REGISTER
Taught by an experienced coach, students learn the basics of volleyball through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. All skill levels are welcome.

Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicaoland’s premier karate school, taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale, a four-time National Champion and President of the American Shotokan Karate Association.
Triple Threat Junior Skills Training 5-7 yrs 9/12-9/28 M/W 4:15-5 pm REGISTER
This clinic will break kids into age and skill appropriate groups while working on ball handling, passing, shooting, lay-ups, and defense. Coaches will focus on teaching fundamental skills of the game while providing a fun and safe environment for players.
Triple Threat Next Level Training 8-11 yrs 9/12-9/28 M/W 5:15-6:15 pm REGISTER
This clinic continues to build fundamental skills in ball handling, shooting, passing, footwork and attacking the basket. Players will perform drills individually and in skill appropriate groups to elevate their game to the next level. Competitive game situational drills will also be incorporated to improve overall game performance and knowledge.
