ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS
Beware of Scammers Pretending to be Mother Brenda
What to watch for:
The latest round of phishing scams comes in the form of an email that looks like it is from Mother Brenda and asks you to email her back. The email address is similar to Mother Brenda's, but not the same. Mother Brenda's email is rector@standrewsepiscopal.org. Many of the scammers use a g-mail address. We never use a g-mail address at church. Poor grammar is also a clue that it's a hoax email.

What to do:
Question anything that seems unusual and don't reply to the email in question. Open up a new email to ask the church a question.

Remember:
Our clergy won't ask you to buy gift cards in an email. We have plenty of Pastoral Care funds to take care of such needs.

Have you Voted?
Deadline September 14
Our Faith in Action committee reminds you that every vote counts, and that your vote is a way of standing in solidarity with the oppressed, the marginalized, and those who have less than they need. Let's be a "100% voting" congregation!
Meals Needed
Occasionally
One of the ways we take care of each other at St. Andrew's is by providing a meal or two for a family experiencing a health crisis or moving through a tragedy. If you're willing to be on a rotation of people to do so, please email the office.

Beginning Sunday, we are launching our youth service that runs concurrently to the 10 am worship service. Plan to meet every second and fourth Sunday under the umbrellas in front of the church! Contact Constance for more information or to receive the weekly youth eblast with regular information.
Young Adult Bible Study
Tuesday, September 14, 7:30 pm
If you're a young adult, you're invited to a rousing Bible study in-person and via Zoom the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month. If you are interested, please email Rev. Richard and he will share the Zoom link.
Next Deep Dive Starts
September 15th
Wednesdays, 7 pm, beginning September 15
Our new book is Sacred Earth, Sacred Soul: Celtic Wisdom for Reawakening to What Our Souls Know and Healing the World by John Philip Newell. A leading spiritual teacher reveals how Celtic spirituality—listening to the sacred around us and inside of us—can help us heal the earth, overcome our conflicts, and reconnect with ourselves. Join us September 15th for our first session, having read the Introduction through Chapter 2. You'll find the link on our website here.
Sunday School Resumes
Sunday, September 19
Sunday School resumes next week. Children can be dropped off before the 10 am service in the smaller play yard (accessed through gate near the shed next to the Neighborhood Center).
Ready for Baptism?
Baptisms will be held on Sunday, November 7
If you would like to have your child or yourself baptized this fall, the next opportunity will be on Sunday, November 7 at the 10 am All Saints’ Sunday service. Please email Mother Brenda to express your interest as soon as possible.
Creation Season
September 1-October 4
God's creation is a beautiful gift. The Season of Creation gives us a chance to look for ways to receive this gift, care for it, and share it with others. Please use this daily calendar to pray for local plants and animals, local ecosystems, and organizations working to help us protect this precious gift. For more information, please contact Erin O’Brien

Heading Off to College?
Come for a Blessing
Sundays during Worship
We are offering blessings to college students heading off for a new year at both worship services for the next several weeks.
Egg Cartons Needed
Drop-off Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Sundays
The Food Pantry needs your egg cartons! Please drop them off at the kitchen door during the day on Wednesdays or Thursdays, or in the Narthex on Sundays. Thank you.
Worship
Sundays, 8 & 10 am
We’re back inside with everyone masked. 8 am worship continues in the Shirley Teale Memorial Chapel, and the 10 am service—with singing—is held in the main Nave, followed by Coffee Hour outside the front doors. A bathroom trailer with an ADA ramp/stall is available outside. A video of the 10 am service will be posted on the St. Andrew's website, usually by noon, the next day (Monday). Note that Sunday School is on hiatus until September 19.
