Second Annual Recycled Scarecrow Contest
September 7-October 15
Families may register to participate. You will receive a bag for the “head” and a dowel for the arms, you provide the rest! Find objects from around the house, stuff with plastic bags, and glue it all together! When you are finished bring it to the library. We will post it outside and the librarians will vote for their favorites. The winning families will get a pizza party gift card! To register and to reserve a kit please email [email protected].
Restoring our Environment One Plant at a Time on Zoom

With pollinators and birds in steep decline our ecosystems are suffering. Learn how habitat loss and native plant species have contributed to this problem. This presentation by Catherine Bryla describes the issues and the solution and the mission of Sag Moraine. The purpose of this presentation is to help viewers improve our environment and help increase our bird and pollinator populations through their home and business landscape plant choices. Mindfulness Nature Walk

Take some time to relax and destress on this planned walk on the library’s grounds. Stop by the Adult Services desk to receive a guide to each station or print the guide we will post online. If you submit the answer to the question at the final station by September 30th, you will earn a raffle ticket for a small prize drawing!

Hispanic Heritage Month Trivia Contest

Can I make meeting room reservations?
Yes! Room reservations will begin again on June 1.

Can I donate my used books?
The Friends of the Acorn Library began accepting gently used book and media donations again on February 1. These books are used in the book store, and are the primary fundraising method of the Friends of the Library. Thank you for your support.
