This is a special fall season for us. For the last twenty two years, we were honored to be serving the great family of Philadelphia Church in Chicago. 2023 is also the Year of Jubilee for Philadelphia Church, celebrating 50 years of open doors, of God’s goodness and faithfulness, of divine power and uncountable miracles, amazing experiences and victories.
Philadelphia Church was founded in 1973 by pastor George W. Galis with a group of 35 people of Romanian immigrants. During its 50-year history, the church has met in five different buildings, worshipping in our current location since 1994, but we are ready to transition to our new campus, commonly known as the “Thecla Campus”. In its 50-year history, Phila Church has only had three senior pastors: George W. Galis, Peter Lascau and Florin T. Cimpean. This speaks to the maturity and stability of our amazing community. I am so humbled and overwhelmed by the unmerited opportunity granted to me to serve the awesome people of Philadelphia Church for the last 22 years. I am standing in this moment with a heart filled with gratitude and love for God and the awesome people of this wonderful church. When I look at these beautiful faces, I truly see the face of God radiating through each one of them. I see a history of family, faith, faithfulness, friendship, and freedom. I witness a divine synergy.
From the beginning, Philadelphia church has become a haven for Romanians who escaped communist Romania to find a new life and freedom in United States. During all these years, Philadelphia Church has been at the forefront of innovation, creativity, and profound spirituality. It has become an open door and welcoming home for thousands of believers. Phila Church has always been recognized for the worship excellence, the centrality of the word, the friendly environment, the depth of its relationships, and its missionary vision. Our church left an undeletable mark on the Romanian diaspora and on society at large.
I can say with much confidence that this 50th year of Philadelphia Church is the best in its history. It is a Kairos year when God is preparing us for greater things to come and is springing forward a synergy of visions, energies, and dreams.
As we are preparing to move to a new campus and cast a new paradigm of ministry, we are visioneering the future and dreaming big dreams worthy of God. Philadelphia Church exists for the glory of God and strives to offer a place where unbelievers find salvation and believers become, through training and fellowship, influencers in church and society. Our vision is to be a spiritual and relevant church in this generation, impacting our community and taking the gospel around of the world. This is Philadelphia, the Church I love!
Philadelphia Church is the first Romanian church organized as a COG church and it has played an important role in the development of the Romanian Pentecostal Convention and Church of God Romanian office. I grateful to this wonderful church community for supporting us in serving the Romanian community at large.

The 50th Anniversary
of Philadelphia Romanian Church of God, Chicago

The Romanian Pentecostal Centenary in America
On October 21-22, 2023, Bishop Gabriel Fazecas, Alleluia Romanian Church of God and local Romanian pastors and churchrs in Detroit are organizing and special Centenary event to mark the first pentecostal experience among the Romanians in United States.

Pastoral Transition at Emanuel Romanian Church of God!
Big event at Emanuel Church in Anaheim on July 16,2023! Founding and Senior Pastor Dr. Lazar Gog passed the leadership to incoming Senior Pastor Dr. David Salar. The glory of the Lord was in the room and the anointing came on God's servants. We honored Dr. & Mrs. Lazar and Magdalena Gog for a lifetime of ministry and officially installed Dr. & Mrs. David and Violeta Salar into pastorship. I appreciate all the pastors who served and attended: Moses Gaode, Vasile Cinpean, Crinisor Stefan, Marian Ticle, Marius Covaci, Gelu Strambu, Nelu Muresan, Daniel Salar, Dragos Salar, Liviu Puraci, Arad Miszti, Samu and many others.
So humbled to have the opportunity to lead this process for my two good friends.

Church Celebrations
Grace Romanian Church of God was officially launched in Greenville, SC in the thriving and ever-increasing Romanian community in the Greenville area. Hundreds of people filled the sanctuary of Fairforest Church of God. The church also performed baptisms. It was a powerful service, followed by an incredibly delicious meal and authentic fellowship. Along with Bishop Moses Gaode, RTO Chairman, we were blessed by the opportunity to help organize this church. We are also grateful to Pastor Chris Kilgore and Fairforest Church of God for hosting Grace Church from the biginning.
Congratulations to Bishop Ion Hrezdac, Rev. Daniel Coman, Rev. Ioan Beuca and Rev. Sandu Palaghia for their great work in launching this church. We appreciate them deeply and pray for their ministry. May the Lord continue to bless them and bring forth increase.
Visit at the Convention: This year at the Convention in Atlanta, we were visited by Dr. James S. McIntyre Sr., - Director, COG Intercultural Ministries Bishop Fijoy Johnson, Co-Chair, Bishop Doyle Roberts, Chairman, and Lady Sylvia Roberts. We were blessed by the visit and enjoyed the fellowship! (3rd picture below)

New Administrative Assistant for RTO
For the last two years, Dallara Vanciu has served as the Administrative Assistant for our office in a time of transition. She helped organize and transition our office. Now, she is pursuing different opportunities. We are grateful to Dally for all of her work and praying for her future endeavors.
Our new AB Administrative Assistant is Mrs. Susana Borlovan. Suzi is married to Marcel Borlovan and have two daugthers. They are members of Philadelphia Church. Suzi has years of experience with non-profit work in Romania and has BA in theological studies. Marcel is a ITP graduate and minister on our theme at Phila Church. We welcome Suzi to our office and pray for a blessed ministry in this new capacity.

The Finish Europe Summit
Hundreds Assembled to Synergize and Mobilize in Order to Finalize the Great Commission by the 2,000th Birthday of the Church ZURICH, September 1, 2023 — To coordinate and apply the collective time, energy and resources of the Global Church to finish the Great Commission, Global Church Network welcomed nearly 400 Christian leaders representing 44 European countries for the FINISH Europe Summit, held September 4-6, 2023, in Zurich, Switzerland.
A large group (over 30) of Romanian pastors and leaders representing different Romanian organizations from all over Europe were mobilized by Bishop Cimpean to be part of this vision casting event.
For nearly 20 years, the Global Church Network has synergistically partnered with thousands of organizations and more than 700,000 churches, spanning virtually every denomination and world region. In 2017, they added a finish line: 2030 — the 2,000th birthday of the Church. Referred to as FINISH 2030, the collaboration offers a new overarching strategy for pursuing the Great Commission — one that is synergistic, global in scope and capable of outpacing population growth and getting the Church to the finish line sooner than we ever dreamed possible. Following FINISH 2030 Summits previously held in Asia and West Africa, leaders in attendance at the FINISH Europe Summit in Zurich will set collective, missional goals for: • The launching of 39 ministry hubs throughout Europe; • The equipping of at least 100,000 new pastors and ministers in the next ten years; • The establishment of Global Church Divinity School campuses in every nation; • The mobilization of prayer in local churches throughout Europe. “FINISH 2030 is about reaching the hardest places in the world with the Gospel—sooner rather than later,” said Founder and President of Global Church Network, Dr. James O. Davis. “This is not something that any one person, church, denomination or ministry organization can do alone. We are moving past ego and logo to ‘we go together.’ The Church is moving from competing with each other to working together to complete the Great Commission.”
