Playing Golf with Perseverance

Golf isn’t just about hitting the ball far or sinking putts—it's also about sticking with it, even when things get tough. Sometimes your ball lands in the sand, or you miss a shot you practiced a hundred times. That’s when perseverance comes in! Perseverance means not giving up, even when something feels hard. Just like learning to ride a bike or tie your shoes, golf takes practice, patience, and a positive attitude.

Imagine you're on the 9th hole and you've already had a few tricky shots. You could feel frustrated, but instead, you take a deep breath, remember what your coach taught you, and try again. That’s perseverance in action! Every time you keep going, even when it’s not perfect, you’re becoming a stronger golfer—and a stronger person. The best players in the world didn’t get great overnight. They kept practicing, learning from mistakes, and believing in themselves.

So next time you're out on the course, remember: every swing is a chance to grow. Whether you hit a great shot or one that goes a little sideways, keep your head up and keep swinging. Perseverance helps you finish the round with pride, knowing you gave it your best. And that’s what being part of First Tee is all about—learning skills that help you in golf and in life!

Target Awareness: Aiming with Purpose

When you play golf, every shot has a goal—whether it’s reaching the green, getting out of a bunker, or sinking a putt. That’s where target awareness comes in. Target awareness means knowing exactly where you want the ball to go and focusing your mind and body to make it happen. It’s like being a superhero with a laser focus—your eyes, your swing, and your thoughts all working together to hit your mark.

Before you swing, take a moment to look at your target. Is it close or far? Is there anything in the way, like trees or water? Once you’ve picked your target, imagine the path your ball will take. This helps your brain and body work as a team. Even if your shot doesn’t land exactly where you planned, having a clear target helps you learn and improve.

Whether you’re driving off the tee or putting on the green, keep your eyes on the prize and swing with confidence. Target awareness helps you play smarter, stay focused, and have more fun. And the more you practice it, the more you’ll see your shots land closer and closer to where you want them to go! 🎯
