NEW CLASSES THIS FALL

1. Sticks and Stones: Tai Chi Equipment Training
Tai Chi qualities of rooting, balance, energy projection, flow are all enhanced by training with objects and equipment. Using wooden staves, rocks, and other natural equipment, we will increase our Tai Chi natural power and grace.
2. Tai Chi Boot Camp
Continuing the "Old school Tai Chi" training sessions of this summers camp, this will be a full hour of intensive practice to develop strength, balance, coordination, and Tai Chi jing.
3. Stand Walk Sit Breathe
Less is more.   In this class, we take the most basic and universal human actions–standing, walking, sitting, and breathing–and explore them as profound forms of meditation and energy-cultivation.
4.Zi Yu  Gong:  Chinese Self-Healing Exercises
Drawn from sources including Acupressure, Qigong, Tai Chi, Daoist Yoga, and Paidagong, Chinese Self Healing Exercises improve health, increase energy, reduce tension and stress, reduce or eliminate chronic pain, promote longevity, and foster inner peace. They are easy to learn, simple to do, and effective!
5. Marriage of Heaven and Earth Qigong
An intermediate-level Qigong often used to help heal back, neck, and shoulder problems,MHE incorporates Daoist breathing, stretching of muscles, tendons, and ligaments, bending and bowing of the spine, opening and closing the joints and body cavities. A core longevity practice that dramatically increases qi flow. . And also:Dragon And Tiger , our most popular Qigong course, is now open to all levels, beginner to advanced.

FROM THE DIRECTOR: THE FIFTH SEASON

We have entered the Fifth Season-- in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the time when “the pendulum reverses its swing",when the Yang energies of Spring and Summer pause, a period of rich, vital stillness before the turn towards Autumn and Winter.

What is most striking about this time of year is the sense that time stands still. The peak of summer has passed and the days are shortening, but the leaves remain on the trees and warm weather continues. The descending essence of autumn has not yet arrived, but the bounding energy of summer has surely subsided. The yin and yang are finely balanced. --Bambu Clinic

When approached as a time to truly slow down and self-nurture, late summer can help us re-ground in an incredibly steadying sense of stability and balance. It is a kind of homecoming, where you are given the opportunity to come back to the fields of yourself and rest there for the time being.   --Asia Suler

A good time tme for standing outside, breathing the rich air, listening to the rain, feeling the stillness that contains everything.  From which we may, at the right time, rise up, rooted. --Don Miller, BTC Director
